Preakness Stakes (G1) winner Exaggerator opened as the favorite for the $1.5 million Belmont Stakes (G1) on June 11, and the price went down even farther with the announcement that Kentucky Derby (G1) winner Nyquist is not headed to the Big Apple.

Nyquist suffered his first defeat in the Preakness and spiked a fever shortly after the race. His trainer Doug O’Neill announced on Tuesday morning that the colt had an elevated white blood cell count and was declared out of the third jewel of the Triple Crown.
