Game 1 of the Western Conference final between the San Jose Sharks and St. Louis Blues is set to go Sunday evening at the Scottrade Center and if history is any indication, we can expect a ton of goals in this matchup.

Shark Bites
  • The Sharks are 4-1 SU in the last five meetings in St. Louis.
  • The Sharks are 1-10 SU in their last 11 Conference Finals games.
  • The Blues are 1-4 SU in their last five Conference Finals games.

In spread markets, the Blues get the puckline edge at -1.5 (+225) while the the Sharks are currently -265. As far as the total is concerned, OVER 5 goals is -125 while UNDER 5 goals is +105.

OVER has gone 8-2-1 in the previous 11 meetings between these two Western Conference foes and has gone gone 5-1 in the previous six meetings in St. Louis.

Strangely, however, UNDER went against that trend in three regular season meetings as the two combined to score 14 goals in three games for a 1-2 OVER/UNDER mark.

OVER has gone 5-0-3 in San Jose’s last eight playoff games and has gone 6-1-4 in St. Louis’ last 11 games.

These two have a deep playoff history over in the Western Conference. The pair have met in four playoff series and each has won two. The most recent clash was back in 2012 where San Jose won the opener before the Blues took the next four.

Raptors Have Been ATS Poison in Playoffs

Kyle Lowry Toronto Raptors NBA Playoffs

The Toronto Raptors are just one win away from a first-ever trip to the Eastern Conference Finals but when it comes to covering the spread during their postseason run, the Raps have been a frustrating proposition. They’ll try to get over the hump when they host the Miami Heat in Game 7 of their Eastern Conference semifinal series at the Air Canada Centre Sunday afternoon.

Shark Bites
  • Favorite is 13-6 ATS in the last 19 meetings.
  • UNDER is 10-4 in the Raptors’ last 14 games.

Online book Bovada is currently offering the Raps as 4.5-point home favorites for Game 7. The total is presently slated at 189 with OVER priced at -115 and UNDER at -105.

The Raps have gone just 2-4 against the spread in the series with the Heat and have gone an abysmal 4-9 during the playoffs. Between Game 4 against the Indiana Pacers in the opening round and Game 2 versus the Heat in this round, the Raps lost six-straight games ATS.

The Heat took Game 6 back on their home floor by a score of 103-91, easily covering the number as 3.5-point home favorites.

Miami went all small with Hassan Whiteside still out due to injury and head coach Erik Spoelstra keeping both Udonis Haslem and Amar’e Stoudemire on the bench in Game 6. Spo used a small lineup of perimeter players en route to victory and were paced by Goran Dragic’s 30 points and Dwyane Wade’s 22.

Toronto’s backcourt duo of Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan has really stepped up without Jonas Valanciunas in the lineup and must do so once again in Game 7. The pair combined for 59 points in both Game 5 and 6.

Silver lining for the Raps: Toronto has lost back-to-back games at during its current postseason run.
