The Toronto Raptors are just one win away from a first-ever trip to the Eastern Conference Finals but when it comes to covering the spread during their postseason run, the Raps have been a frustrating proposition. They’ll try to get over the hump when they host the Miami Heat in Game 7 of their Eastern Conference semifinal series at the Air Canada Centre Sunday afternoon.

The Raps have gone just 2-4 against the spread in the series with the Heat and have gone an abysmal 4-9 during the playoffs. Between Game 4 against the Indiana Pacers in the opening round and Game 2 versus the Heat in this round, the Raps lost six-straight games ATS.
The Heat took Game 6 back on their home floor by a score of 103-91, easily covering the number as 3.5-point home favorites.
Miami went all small with Hassan Whiteside still out due to injury and head coach Erik Spoelstra keeping both Udonis Haslem and Amar’e Stoudemire on the bench in Game 6. Spo used a small lineup of perimeter players en route to victory and were paced by Goran Dragic’s 30 points and Dwyane Wade’s 22.
Toronto’s backcourt duo of Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan has really stepped up without Jonas Valanciunas in the lineup and must do so once again in Game 7. The pair combined for 59 points in both Game 5 and 6.
Silver lining for the Raps: Toronto has lost back-to-back games at during its current postseason run.
