Irish on a 1-5 ATS Double-Digit Chalk Run

Notre Dame will look to continue their ascent in the national rankings with a fifth straight SU win on Saturday afternoon when they meet the Massachusetts Minutemen.

The Fighting Irish's current win streak follows a four-game SU and ATS losing streak. However, they remain 7-2 SU in their last nine at home, 5-4 ATS, and are 6-0 SU in their last six as double-digit favorites, but just 1-5 ATS.

The Minutemen travel to South Bend riding a four-game SU losing streak, 1-3 ATS, and are winless SU in their last seven as double-digit underdogs, but a surprising 4-3 ATS, including a slender 25-23 loss to Temple as 13-point underdogs last weekend.

However, UMass has enjoyed no success in September matchups, losing SU in their last 23.

Michigan to Face BYU as Home Favorite

The Michigan Wolverines will be gunning for a third straight SU win when they face the BYU Cougars in Week 4 action.

The Wolverines, 22-2 SU in their last 24 September contests, held Oregon State and UNLV to just 14 total points in the wins, but failed to cover as 32.5-point favorites in their 28-7 victory over the Rebels, dropping them to 2-4 ATS in their past six.

The Cougars fell to No. 22 in the national rankings following their disappointing 24-23 loss to UCLA last Saturday, ending the squad's six-game SU win streak in September.

BYU has now won three straight ATS, and is 3-2 SU in their last five, while pegged as underdogs in each of those contests, and has seen the point total play OVER in four of their last five.

Ohio State is Riding a 16-Game SU Run

Ohio State will be gunning for a 17th straight SU win when they host the Western Michigan Broncos on Saturday night.

The Buckeyes are a stunning 28-2 SU in their last 30 September home dates, but have been betting disappointments in their last two, failing to cover as 42.5-point favorites against Hawaii in Week 2, and as 34-point chalk in a narrow 20-13 win over the Northern Illinois Huskies last weekend.

The Broncos ended a four-game SU losing streak with 52-20 win over Murray State, covering as 28.5-point favorites, but take on the defending champs riding a 14-game SU losing streak against Big Ten opponents.

Oregon a Weak ATS Team in September

The Oregon Ducks have been great on home turf with a 23-2 SU record in their past 25 games at Autzen Stadium. The Ducks will look to continue their home dominance when they host the Utah Utes Saturday in the first game of conference play for both teams.

After resting starting quarterback Vernon Adam Jr. last week, Ducks' coach Mark Helfrich is expected to go with the senior signal caller Saturday though no official announcement has been made.

It is a similar story on the Utes sideline as they rested regular starting quarterback Travis WIlson last week with no announcement if he will suit up this week.

The line has taken a lot of the week to hit the board thanks to the question marks around the quarterback play. The line hit the board Thursday and has since shifted to Oregon -11.5.

TCU is 8-2 SU and ATS Past 10 vs Big 12

No. 3 TCU will be aiming for a 12th consecutive SU win when they travel to Lubbock to face the Texas Tech Red Raiders on Saturday afternoon.

TCU has averaged just under 50 points per game in their three SU wins this season, but are just 1-2 ATS following an 11-2 ATS campaign in 2014.

However, the Horned Frogs are 8-2 SU and ATS in their past 10 against Big 12 opponents, with the UNDER going 4-1 in their last five September road games.

The Red Raiders are 3-0 SU in their past three, while going 5-1 ATS in their past six.

Texas Tech was crushed 82-27 by the Horned Frogs on the road last season, but is a solid 3-0 SU and ATS in their last three home dates with TCU, most recently claiming a 20-10 win as three-point home underdogs in 2013.

Spartans Look to Continue SU Win Streak

Michigan State will be shooting for their seventh straight SU win when they host the Central Michigan Chippewas at Spartan Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Spartans continued their climb up the national rankings with a 35-21 win over the Air Force Falcons in Week 3, but failed to cover for a third straight week while pegged as 24-point favorites.

The Chippewas continue to struggle with the inconsistency that plagued them last season, going 1-4 SU in their past five, 3-2 ATS, and are 2-2 SU, but 4-0 ATS, in their past four road contests.

Overall, Central Michigan is 1-5 SU and 3-3 ATS in their last six against the Spartans, and are 1-7 SU, 3-5 ATS, in their last eight as double-digit underdogs.

Nover: NFL Survivor Pools on Life Support

This Sunday is going to have a different feel for millions of NFL bettors. They are the ones who already have been eliminated from various survivor pools and contests courtesy of the New Orleans Saints losing as double-digit home favorites to Tampa Bay last week.

Survivor, or knockout pools, grow in popularity every year. The format is simple: Pick one team to win straight-up. Lose once and you're out. The trick is you have to use a different team each week. You can't play the same team twice in a season.

Super Computer Week 3 Contest Picks

OK, so it wasn’t a 5-0 sweep, but it was an improvement on the Week 1 record of 2-3.

With a 3-2 week, the Super Computer is .500 in its weekly Westgate Super Contest picks for 2015. So progress dictates that a 4-1 week or better is right around the corner.

We tweaked the process for selecting which five games make the Westgate grade for Week 3, so without further delay, here are the predictions.
