Few states in the United States offer less legal gaming options than the state of Vermont. With no casinos, no poker rooms, and no race tracks, Vermont residents that want to gamble legally are forced to either visit a neighboring state or play the Vermont Lottery.

New Mexico

For nearly 20 years residents and visitors of New Mexico have had the chance to play casino style gaming thanks to the state's compacts with tribal gaming in the area. Tribal casinos joined horse racing as another popular form of gambling in the state.

Sports bettors and poker players are left with fairly limited options in New Mexico, and by the letter of the law any bet placed outside of regulated casinos is illegal. But with no specific laws about internet gaming on the books and lack of enforcement against placing bets, many residents opt to play online at offshore locations.

For gamblers in the state of Maine, options are fairly limited. Only two live casinos are open across the state and only one of them has a poker room. Two harness race tracks are also available, as well as some high stakes bingo rooms on tribal lands.

The limited gaming options, especially for sports bettors and poker players, leads many residents of Maine to look to offshore casinos to place wagers online. There are no laws on the books against online gambling in Maine, though the act could fall under the state's somewhat unclear law against gambling.

Outside of Nevada, things don't get much better for bettors in the United States than they do in Delaware. Delaware has casino gambling, live racing, live poker, and even a legal variation of sports betting in the form of NFL parlay cards. The state is one of the most gambling-friendly states in the entire country.

Gambling and Alaska do not go together at all. The state offers virtually nothing when it comes to gaming; there are no casinos, no poker rooms, no horse racing venues, and not even a state lottery. A couple of bingo rooms, pull-tab cards and oddball charity wagers are the closest Alaska residents will get to live betting action.

Nats Swept Last Time They Faced Yanks

The Washington Nationals were swept by the New York Yankees in a three-game series the last time the two teams faced each other on the MLB moneyline back in 2012 in interleague action as they open up a set at Nationals Park on Tuesday.
