A couple of La Liga giants own two of the top three spots on the Champions League futures board at online shop Bovada as Barcelona is the favorite at +240 and Real Madrid, last year’s champion, is third on the list at +500.

UFC: 2016 Underdogs vs Favorites Record

Anthony Johnson UFC

2015 was a historic year for upsets in the UFC. Seven titles changed hands during the year, and no upset was bigger than Holly Holm’s over the once-invincible Ronda Rousey. For the year, underdogs posted a 180-288 record vs favorites, earning the W in 38.5% of fights. Will 2016 once again be a big year for the underdog, or will the favorites simply do what they’re supposed to do?

NBA Title Odds: Warriors the Team to Beat

Golden State Warriors Klay Thompson

The Golden State Warriors opened the NBA season as the odds-on favorites to claim the Larry O’Brien Trophy, and heading into All-Star Weekend they remain atop of odds lists. In fact, their value is shrinking, as they now sit at even money to go all the way after being priced at +125 a month before.

Hawks Begin Homestand Versus Sharks

Corey Crawford Brent Seabrook Chicago Blackhawks

Two of the hotter teams in the Western Conference meet in Illinois when the San Jose Sharks visit the Chicago Blackhawks Tuesday night.

Shark Bites
  • The Blackhawks are 16-3 SU in their last 19 games.
  • UNDER has cashed in 12 of Chicago’s last 17 games on home ice.
  • The Blackhawks are 9-0 SU in their last nine games the Western Conference.

The Blackhawks, and their backers for that matter, are enjoying a three-game winning streak which included a 5-1 thrashing of the reeling Dallas Stars in their last effort Saturday. The contest in Dallas capped a four-game road trip which began with a 5-0 loss at the Carolina Hurricanes but featured wins at the Colorado Avalanche (2-1), Arizona Coyotes (5-4) and, finally, the Stars. The Hawks return home for a four-game stand which begins with a visit from the Sharks Tuesday night.

Speaking of those Sharks, they still own the second spot in the Pacific Division thanks to the Anaheim Ducks’ loss Monday night. San Jose has 58 points, sitting seven behind the Kings and one up on the Ducks, and has gone 6-2-2 in its last 10 games. The Sharks did, however, suffer a bad loss at the Nashville Predators in their last game, losing 6-2 as goaltender Martin Jones allowed five goals on 29 shots.

Both teams have two days off heading into Tuesday’s contest and while Corey Crawford is confirmed to get the start in the crease for the Hawks (via Brian Hedger of, nothing is yet confirmed for the Sharks.

UNDER wagers have been trending with these two teams off two days’ rest, however. UNDER is 0-3-1 O/U in the the Sharks’ last four in such spots while UNDER is 0-3 in the Hawks’ last three games on two days’ rest.

Aguero Leads Top Goalscorer Futures

Sergio Aguero Manchester City Premier League

A two-goal performance versus Liverpool, including a goal-of-the-year candidate, now has Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy at the top of the Premier League goalscorer’s leaderboard. Much like his club that sits atop the Premier League table, however, Vardy still doesn’t seem to get the respect he so deserves as he is not the favorite to be top scorer by season’s end.

Big OVER Trend When Dubs Play Bad D's

Steph Curry Golden State Warriors

You may have noticed that Golden State Warriors totals have been on the rise lately.

Their last three OVER/UNDER totals have been the three highest of the NBA this season at 227 (at Wizards), 233.5 (vs OKC) and 229.5 (vs Rockets). And unless you don’t pay a shred of attention to the NBA, you have likely noticed why.

Warriors are a Lights Out Play vs Rockets

James Harden Stephen Curry

Just how good are the Golden State Warriors at home? The Dubs have won 42 straight at Oracle Arena and will be looking to push that number to 43 when the Houston Rockets come to town on Tuesday. The Rockets wave prevailed just once in their last 12 meetings with the Warriors.

Shark Bites
  • The Rockets are 3-11 ATS in their last 14 games after losing as favorite.
  • The total has gone OVER in six of the Rockets' last seven games on the road.
  • The favored team is 2-5 ATS in its last seven games in this matchup.

To say Houston has mailed it in before the coming All-Star break would be an understatement. The Rockets have dropped five of seven, namely due to a series of slow starts. That’s a trend that will need to be bucked if James Harden’s crew have any shot of reversing their fortunes against the Warriors.

Golden State is once again operating like a well-oiled machine, matching the 1966-67 Philadelphia 76ers for the best 50-game start in league history at 46-4 SU. The Western Conference leaders have won nine straight heading into the matchup.

Totals bettors, take note: the Warriors (29-21 O/U) and Rockets (30-23 O/U) rank as the top OVER bets in the Association this season. Houston has also gone above the closing total in 17 of their last 24 affairs. At the time of writing, the total for the game was off the board.

Kansas Looking for Revenge vs WVU

Kansas vs West Virginia

Two top 25 teams tip off tonight in college hoops action whne the West Virginia Mountaineers, owners of four covers in their last five games, visit the Kansas Jayhawks. The Jayhawks, who opened as 7-point favorites, will try to make it four wins in a row tonight, both SU and ATS.

This will be the second game between the teams this year, as West Virginia got the better of Kansas on January 12, beating them 74-63, easily covering the spread as 1-point underdogs. The Mountaineers forced 22 turnovers in the game and were led by forward Devin Williams who put up 17 points along with 12 rebounds. That game was at home, however, and this series hasn’t been kind to the visitor, as the home team is 6-0 SU in the last six games between the teams.

Being favorites of 7-points or more has treated Kansas well, as they’ve gone 12-5 ATS in their last 17 games in that spot. Another trend favoring the Jayhawks is that they’re a tough beat when playing with two days off between games, going 9-2 SU in their last 11 games in that situation.
