How To Bet High Totals And Low Totals In Football

A veteran Las Vegas oddsmaker once told me: “Bet the OVER on the high totals and the UNDER on the low ones and you’ll be OK.”

Well, the data shows you won’t win or lose much that way but he does have a bigger point here and I’ll get to that in a second.

The data shows that high totals and low totals both come out close to 50-50 on the OVER/UNDER in football.

UFC 202: Betting Odds and Predictions

Conor McGregor vs Nate Diaz. There isn’t much more that needs to be said to sell UFC 202. The biggest rematch the MMA world has seen in years highlights a card full of entertaining bouts. Overlooked is the co-main event between light heavyweight contenders Anthony Johnson and Glover Teixeira.

Here is all you need to know for UFC 202 – including my predictions for who should be walking away with the victories.

UFC 202: Why Diaz Beats McGregor … Again

The MMA world is embroiled in a debate over whether Conor McGregor or Nate Diaz will win their massive rematch at UFC 202. Well, I’m here to tell you that Diaz is going to win yet again.

If you have any doubts, here are a few – of the many – reasons why Nate Diaz will beat Conor McGregor at UFC 202.

Diaz Has A Huge Physical Advantage

McGregor can dominate his opponents at 145 lbs as the Irishman is massive for a featherweight. McGregor had always had the reach advantage at featherweight – by upwards of eight inches – but Diaz is just a much bigger human being.

UFC 202: Why McGregor Beats Diaz

The collective jaws of MMA fans everywhere dropped when Nate Diaz pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the year — the fifth-biggest, to be exact — when he submitted Conor McGregor in the second round at UFC 196. The McGregor loss flipped the UFC upside down, creating a chain reaction in other divisions that has finally brought us to the rematch at UFC 202.

Brazil With Chance to Avenge 2014 World Cup Defeat

Although it’s not the senior teams playing for gold, we are finally getting a rematch of the game that saw Brazil eliminated from their own World Cup with a 7-1 defeat at the hands of the Germans. The two meet Friday evening in what looks on paper, to be the best contest we’ve seen at these Olympics.

2016 Rio Summer Olympics: Usain Bolt Betting Odds

For one final time, we will watch Usain Bolt take to an Olympic track when the six-time gold medalist runs in Rio. Bolt is a two-time defending champion in the 100-meter, 200-meter and a member of the 4X100 meter relay. ‘The Fastest Man Alive’ also holds the world record in each of those three disciplines.

UNDER Hot When Mariners Hit Los Angeles

The Seattle Mariners are inching closer to a postseason spot, and a strong finish to their seven-game road trip would go a long way to boosting those chances. Seattle concludes its four-game series with the lowly Los Angeles Angels Thursday.

Shark Bites
  • The Angels are 1-12 SU and 3-10 ATS in their last 13 games.
  • The Mariners are 8-2 SU in their last 10 games against teams with losing records.
  • The Mariners are 5-1 SU in their last six games against the Angels.

Hisashi Iwakuma and Matt Shoemaker are the probable starters. Iwakuma (14-7, 3.84 ERA) has been fantastic this month, winning all three of his starts to improve to 8-1 since losing at Detroit on June 22. Iwakuma is 8-3 with a 2.86 ERA in 16 career games against the Angels in his career.

Shoemaker (6-13, 4.22) suffered his second straight loss and fourth in five starts last Saturday, when he gave up five runs and 12 hits in six innings at Cleveland. Shoemaker is 3-4 with a 3.91 ERA in 10 career outings against the M’s.

The UNDER is trending when the Mariners travel to the Golden State. In the Mariners’ last 13 road games against the Halos, the UNDER is 10-3.

Fantastic Pitcher's Duel at AT&T Park Today

AT&T Park is the setting for a fantastic pitcher’s duel on Thursday, as Jacob deGrom and the New York Mets take on Madison Bumgarner and the San Francisco Giants.

Shark Bites
  • The Mets are 3-1 SU in their last four games against the Giants.
  • The total has gone UNDER in six of the Mets' last seven games on the road with Jacob deGrom as the starting pitcher.
  • The total has gone OVER in the Mets' last three games against the Giants.

Bumgarner (11-7, 2.11 ERA) picked up his lone victory since the All-Star break in his last outing and, but he was 0-3 in his first five starts after the break. The veteran has been superb against the Mets, going 4-0 with a 1.03 ERA and 0.91 WHIP in five career starts.

DeGrom dominated the Giants in his lone career outing in the Bay Area, pitching eight innings of two-hit shutout ball on July 8, 2015. He enters this contest on the heels of a fantastic 0.65 ERA over his past four starts but has only one victory to show for it due to the Mets’ inconsistent offense.

Bouncing back away from home has been no problem for the Mets lately. New York is 8-1 in its last nine games on the road after suffering a road loss.

Cincinnati Red-Hot When Straily Takes The Mound

The Cincinnati Reds are not exactly a team you think of when you mention the word ‘dangerous,’ but Dan Straily has been just that. The righty has a 2.13 ERA while allowing opponents to hit just .209 in his six starts since the All-Star break – which have all been wins for the Reds. Cincy and Straily close out their series with the Miami Marlins Thursday.

  • Christian Yelich went 2-for-2 with a solo home run in his only plate appearances against Dan Straily.
  • The OVER is 5-1 in the Reds’ past six games.
  • The Marlins are 8-3 in their past 11 road games coming off a road loss.

Jose Fernandez will take the bump with plenty of rest, as the Marlins’ ace skipped his last start to help limit his workload. Fernandez went seven innings without allowing a single earned run in his first outing against the Reds this season.

The Marlins have traditionally had the Reds’ number, as Miami has won eight of the past 10 meetings between the two teams. However, the Reds have won the past two games between the clubs while outscoring the Marlins 9-5.
