Baseball Betting: Rangers vs. A's

The Texas Rangers will close out their road MLB betting series on Thursday afternoon with a game against the Oakland Athletics.

The Rangers hand the ball to Colby Lewis (13-10, 4.45 ERA) for Thursday's matinee contest. Lewis beat the A's in Texas on September 9, allowing three runs on five hits over 7 1-3 innings.

Georgia Tech vs North Carolina Preview

Georgia Tech's triple option offense has generated more offensive yards per game than any team in college football and odds are they can win as home favorites at Bobby Dodd Stadium Saturday.

The Yellow Jackets are averaging 675 YPD but the visiting North Carolina Tar Heels in betting action believe they can pull the upset as 7-point dogs.
This season the Yellow Jackets are 3-0 overall and 3-0 ATS against the number, while the Tar Heels are 3-0 and 2-1 ATS. In the past 11 meetings of these ACC rivals, the Yellow Jackets are 11-2 SU.

Vick, Romo status affect NFL spreads

Philadelphia’s Michael Vick is among the biggest names on the injury watch list this week as football bettors try to assess his and other key players’ statuses for this weekend's action.

Colts picked as biggest losers

From preseason Super Bowl co-favorites in 2010 to odds-on favorite to have the longest losing streak of any NFL team in 2011.

What a difference a Manning (or the lack of one) can make on your team’s fortunes.

Bovada has posted a ton of fun Week 3 betting specials and the biggest loser is topped by the Colts at 5/2. Kansas City and Miami are next at 9/2 followed by NFC West 0-for-2 starters St. Louis and Seattle.

Betting line favors BYU over UCF

Points may be at a premium Friday night when the UCF Knights play the BYU Cougars in a game matching up teams coming off brutal losses.

All three of UCF’s first three games have gone UNDER the posted total (as they have given up just 6.7 points per game), and two of BYU’s three games have gone UNDER as well. The total opened at 43 but may get forced lower.

Both will be hungry after bad losses last week.

NC State vs Cincinnati Odds Preview

The NC State Wolfpack will be looking for their first win ATS Thursday night when they take on the Cincinnati Bearcats in Cincinnati.

Both teams are 2-1 straight up, but Cincinnati is 2-1 ATS with two covers as a home favorite while NC State is 0-3 ATS. Cincinnati is currently listed as an 8-point favorite.
The Bearcats are ranked fourth nationally in scoring, making this game an OVER candidate. The lowest spread available is 59.5 at TopBet as of Wednesday.

Ravens favored at Rams in Week 3

If birds were able to lick their wounds, the Baltimore Ravens would be doing so after a shocking upset at Tennessee in Week 2.

Tennessee handled them, a week after Baltimore clobbered the Steelers to open the season. They visit St. Louis, who will play on a short week after its Monday Nighter against the New York Giants.

Betting line favors Titans over Broncos

Tennessee opened as 4.5-point favorites but were quickly bet up to -7.5 early this week as the Titans vs Broncos line went up.

The Titans were upset winners over the Baltimore Ravens, shocking many in the football betting world. Denver beat Cincinnati but failed to cover a small home spread.

The teams have met three times since 2003 with the Broncos winning and covering all three. All three have gone OVER the total.

Saints vs Texans Odds Preview

Oddsmakers finally seem to believe the Houston Texans are for real, after several years of teasing.

The Texans are just 4-point underdogs as they visit the New Orleans Saints in Week 3. Houston is 2-0 but the Saints were dominant in thrashing the Bears. The home team won both prior meetings in 2004 and 2007.

But what about the Texans and the fact they have lost 6 in a row as an underdog? They are 1-5 ATS in those games. Should more action be heading to the Saints late this week?

Vikings vs Lions Betting Report

Detroit has lost 16 of the last 17 games in Minnesota, but the 2011 edition of the Lions is a much different one than many of those earlier ones.

So, it seems, are the Vikings, although not in a good way. A week after being the biggest favorite in 11 years, the 2-0 Lions opened as 4-point favorites against 0-2 Minnesota.

Detroit has been a road favorite just three other times since 2005 (and lost all three) but the betting public is sticking with them here in a place they never win.

Of note, the past 6 meetings between these teams all played UNDER the total.
