Conference Final Score Predictions

If you enjoy defensive battles and road underdogs, history tells us you won’t enjoy conference championship weekend.

Because if recent trends hold true and the number-crunching NFL prediction computer is correct, the Patriots and 49ers will win and the games will go over the total.

That is the NFL betting trend in the past five playoff seasons with home teams going 8-2 SU and 10 of 12 games playing over the total.

Packers vs Giants: Divisional Playoff odds

A rematch of a Week 13 battle that saw the New York Giants lose a 38-35 thriller at home, the NFC divisional playoff game will have the Green Bay Packers as big chalk again.

But this time, the Packers are at home, where they have dominated, winning 14 straight and going 12-2 ATS while facing some big spreads.

The line opened at -8 but many bettors like the way the Giants are playing and they have a history as mean dog, winning four in a row as an underdog of 8 or more points.

Total bettors know that 6 of the past 7 meetings have gone OVER, but will the opening total of 52.5 force many to bet the UNDER?

Spread bettors who have profited from the Packers as a post-bye-week team know they are 5-0-1 ATS in the past 6 regular seasons. Their week off last week isn't an official bye week, but they have shown ability to win and cover with extra rest.

Divisional Playoff Odds: Saints vs 49ers

The New Orleans Saints have been on fire, winning and covering the spread in nine straight and they face a team they have similarly dominated here on the NFL Divisional Playoffs odds menu.

The Saints are 9-2 SU in their past 11 meetings with the San Francisco 49ers. Going back further, they are 10-3 ATS in the past 13 meetings, back to the days when both teams were in the old NFC West.

Both teams were 13-3 on the year and both covered the spread regularly (12-4 for Saints, 11-4-1 for 49ers). The divisional playoff round has seen road teams win regularly at a 11-5 SU clip the past four seasons.

And the Saints are favored here but the 49ers are 9-0-1 ATS in their past 10 home games. New Orleans has covered 8 straight as NFL betting chalk, but are just 3-6 ATS in their past 9 games as road chalk.

UFC 142 Betting: Brazilians Favored

The Brazil vs The World theme returns as the UFC returns to Rio Saturday and if this goes down like UFC 134, betting the hometown heroes will be profitable.

Last time, eight fights involved Brazilians and MMA fighters from the rest of the world and the hosts were 7-1, including some dramatic upsets. The UFC 142 odds menu features seven such matchups this time.

UFC 142 Odds: Aldo vs. Mendes

The last time the UFC went to Brazil it was an MMA betting bonanza for those who wagered strictly on the Brazilians.

This event does not have the same feel as the first Brazilian card, and it’s possible that there will be some disappointed Brazilian fans before the UFC 142 action is over on Saturday night.

In the main event Featherweight champion Jose Aldo will put his title on the line against an undefeated wrestling sensation in Chad Mendes. When it comes to fighting styles Mendes brings the one style that could beat the dominant champ.

Divisional Saturday: NFL Betting Preview

Divisional weekend gets off on the right foot Saturday with two highly-anticipated NFL betting matchups as the red-hot New Orleans Saints head out on the road to take on the San Francisco 49ers and Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos look to keep their Cinderella season alive against the New England Patriots.

Here’s a look at the most recent NFL line movement updates as well as some prop bets available at Bovada.

Divisional Playoff Pick: Pats vs Broncos Odds

The last time these teams met, the Patriots stomped the mystique out of Tim Tebow, routing the Broncos in Week 15 at Denver.

Now after another Tebow miracle against the Steelers, the Broncos aim to avenge that loss in the other AFC divisional playoff game. Clearly online sportsbooks don't buy the hype, making the Patriots home chalk of 14 points.

The Broncos are 5-1 ATS in 6 trips to Foxboro since 1995 and the Patriots, despite their home dominance, are just 1-4 ATS in their past 5 playoff home games.

Denver has not packed much of a bite as a big underdog lately, going just 1-6 ATS when dogged by double digits, according to the Odds Shark NFL database. New England won and covered their final 7 games as a favorite and 6 of those games went OVER the betting total. (Check out the biggest Broncos point spread, available over at Bovada earlier.

NBA Odds: Bulls Battle Celtics

The Chicago Bulls will hit the floor in Boston on Friday night as they look for a win in an NBA betting matchup against the Celtics.

The Celtics have been tagged with an ATS loss in five of their last six contests against the Bulls, going 2-4 straight up in those games. The OVER/UNDER is 2-4 over the past six matchups.

NHL Lines: Rangers vs. Maple Leafs

It’s a busy Saturday in NHL betting action this weekend but the matchup between the New York Rangers and Toronto Maple Leafs at the Air Canada Centre will get a large chunk of the attention of hockey fans.

Toronto has been playing well and had won four straight heading into the weekend NHL betting schedule. The Rangers had been the league’s hottest team with nine wins in their past 10 games before taking on the Senators on Thursday.

NFL Betting: Weekend Opening Lines

For the first time since 2006 every home team won on Wild Card Weekend, eliminating all four Wild Card teams in one fell swoop. History tells us the home teams won’t sweep again in this week’s NFL betting action as no postseason since the playoffs expanded to 12 teams in 1990 has ever had the home teams go 8-0 in the first two weeks.
