However, the Wisconsin Badgers and transfer QB Russell Wilson might have something to say about that, as might the scandal-rocked Ohio State Buckeyes.

Patriots vs Giants Preseason Preview

For the past six seasons the Giants and Patriots have ended their preseason schedules with a battle against each other.

Maybe that has to do with the ties between the teams (Bill Belichick spent 12 years on the New York Giants staff before becoming a ‘genius’ in New England). Maybe it's geographical proximity or the fact that non-conference battles are preferred in the preseason so you don’t risk giving away secrets for the regular season.

Mayweather Ortiz odds highlight September

Floyd Mayweather Jr. has only fought twice in nearly four years but he found ways to keep himself in the public eye.

And being 41-0 and remaining in the public eye is a good way to make yourself a huge boxing betting favorite. That’s what’s happening Sept. 17 when he faces hard-punching Victor Ortiz, a fight many hope is a prelude to a superfight between Pretty Boy Floyd and Manny Pacquiao.

Division II schools huge underdogs

Not every sportsbook offers odds on college football games involving Division II schools, but alumni from those schools can get their action down at one shop.

They might not like the odds, but Fordham fans can bet on the Rams when they face UConn on Thursday to kick off the NCAA football betting schedule for 2001. The spread? 40 points at 5Dimes. Can the Rams cover 40 points?

Bulldogs visit Tigers in Week 1 battle

The host Memphis Tigers open as 31-point underdogs against the Mississippi State Bulldogs as college football betting action kicks off a new season Thursday.

Memphis was horrible last year at 1-11 and oddsmakers opened them as 4-TD underdogs against the SEC school this week. Even with that huge spread, bettors continue to back the SEC Bulldogs.

Baseball Odds: Rays vs. Rangers

The Texas Rangers go with C.J. Wilson on Thursday night as they close out their three-game home series against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Wilson (13-6, 3.29 ERA) took a no-decision against the Rays in Tampa Bay back on May 31, allowing three earned runs on three hits over 6 2-3 innings while fanning 10 in that Texas defeat.

Sure bets in Packers vs Chiefs game?

The Chiefs were reliable losers again in Week 3 and are underdogs as the final NFL preseason games roll this week.

Kansas City is now 3-24-1 ATS over the past seven preseasons – an unbelievable run of ATS futility. True to form, they are 0-3 ATS after their home loss to the Rams last week.

This time, they visit Green Bay, the defending Super Bowl champs, and are expected to open at Bovada with a preseason NFL pointspread around +4.

Big 12 2011 Odds Preview

The Big 12 consists of 10 teams now that Colorado and Nebraska have bolted, so one of the first conferences to adopt the divisional format with a league championship game now goes back to a round-robin schedule. This year's crown could be decided on the last day of the season, when Oklahoma visits Oklahoma State.

MLB Betting: Cardinals vs. Brewers

The Milwaukee Brewers will send Randy Wolf to the hill on Wednesday night as they continue a home set against the St. Louis Cardinals.

Wolf (11-8, 3.37 ERA) has pitched the Brewers to a victory in each of his last six trips to the mound. The lefthander has allowed three or fewer runs in seven of his 10 most recent starts.

Sprint Cup Odds: AdvoCare 500

There's a three-way tie atop the odds list at the sportsbooks for this week's Sprint Cup Series event, the AdvoCare 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Carl Edwards, Jimmie Johnson, and Kyle Busch are all listed at 8/1 odds at Bovada to take the checkered flag in the AdvoCare 500 on Sunday night.
