Spurs on verge of sweeping Grizzlies

Tim Duncan and the San Antonio Spurs can sweep the Memphis Grizzlies from the NBA playoffs on Monday night as those teams meet in the fourth game of the Western Conference Finals.

The Spurs ran their series lead to 3-0 over the weekend with a 104-93 victory as a 4.5-point road underdog on the NBA betting lines on Saturday. Duncan picked up 24 points and 10 rebounds in that contest, and Tony Parker had a team-high 26 points.

Angels begin series against Dodgers

The Los Angeles Angels and the Los Angeles Dodgers will begin a four-game home-and-home interleague series on Monday night as the west coast clubs take the diamond at Dodger Stadium.

The Dodgers, who went 2-4 against the Angels last season, will send Zack Greinke to the mound for Monday's contest. The righthander's team has gone 1-6 over his seven career outings against the Angels; he's 2-1 with a 3.48 ERA on the season.

C.J. Wilson, who will get the ball for the Angels, is 4-3 on the year and has a 3.39 ERA.

Red Wings host the Hawks in Game 6

The Detroit Red Wings will try again to knock the Chicago Blackhawks out of the playoffs on Monday night as those teams meet in Game 6 of their best-of-seven second-round series.

Chicago avoided elimination and cut Detroit's series lead to 3-2 on Saturday with a 4-1 victory as a -170 home favorite on the NHL betting lines at the sportsbooks. Andrew Shaw scored twice for the Blackhawks, and Corey Crawford made 25 saves.

Supporters of the Blackhawks have seen them go 36-7-5 so far this season, while the Red Wings are at 24-16-8. In totals betting, the Red Wings are 17-25-6, while the Blackhawks are 18-26-4.

Heat and Pacers tied up for Game 3

The Indiana Pacers will be trying to make it two wins in a row over the top-seeded Miami Heat on Sunday night as those teams battle in Game 3 of the best-of-seven Eastern Conference Finals.

The Pacers topped the Heat 97-93 as a 7.5-point road underdog on the NBA betting lines in Game 2 of the series on Friday night, after Miami won 103-102 as an 8.5-point home favorite back in Game 1. The Heat are riding an 0-3 ATS losing streak.

Scott Dixon and Marco Andretti are the co-favorites on the Indy 500 betting lines at the sportsbooks with the race set to get underway on Sunday afternoon at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Dixon and Andretti both sit at 7/1 at Bovada on the odds to win the Indianapolis 500 this weekend, with Dixon looking to improve on his second-place finish at the event last season. Dixon paid off on the Indy 500 odds with a win back in 2008.

Mets host the Braves on Sunday Night

A pair of National League East teams will close out the MLB betting schedule for the week on Sunday night as the New York Mets play host to the rival Atlanta Braves at Citi Field.

And the Mets will be looking for Shaun Marcum to pick up his first victory of the season on Sunday night, with the righthander 0-5 with a 6.59 ERA over his six starts. Marcum is 1-1 with a 2.96 ERA over his four career starts against Atlanta.

Atlanta counters with Julio Teheran, who will try to quiet the fans and the Mets bats at the same time.

Kings looking to knock out Sharks

The Los Angeles Kings will get a chance to knock the San Jose Sharks out of the playoffs on Sunday night as those two teams meet in Game 6 of their best-of-seven second-round series.

The Kings took a 3-2 lead in the series on Thursday night with a 3-0 victory as a -145 home favorite on the NHL betting lines. Anze Kopitar, Slava Voynov, and Jeff Carter all scored for Los Angeles in that win, while Jonathan Quick made 24 saves.

The Sharks currently sports a record of 25-16-7. The Kings are 27-16-5. Betting totals have seen the Sharks post a 15-23-10 OVER/UNDER record this season, while the Kings have gone 19-18-11 against the number.

Dan Haren is expected to get the ball for the Washington Nationals on Saturday night as they play host to the Philadelphia Phillies to continue their weekend MLB series.

Cain Velasquez will look to defend his UFC Heavyweight title for the first time at UFC 160, and he will be facing a fighter that he already destroyed only a year ago.

 

Antonio Silva has been on a tear since his defeat against Velasquez last May, and his recent knockout of Alistair Overeem has put him into this rematch against Velasquez for the belt.
