Nuggets vs Bulls: NBA betting pick

The NBA betting slate features a clash between Denver and Chicago Monday, with the host Bulls looking to cover the spread and enhance their playoff position.

Denver is the high-scoring team in the league and Chicago is the second-best in defense. It's the first meeting of the year but in four meetings a year ago, every game played UNDER the total.

Watch for the opening Bulls Nuggets point spread at TopBet.
The Bulls sit at 40-10 (29-20-1 ATS) on the season; in comparison, the Nuggets are currently 26-23 (25-24 ATS). Looking to wager on the totals? Chicago is 27-23 OU, and Denver is 26-23 OU.

Kentucky vs Baylor: South Region Pick

The Kentucky Wildcats have been in four Elite 8's since 2001 and covered the spread just once.

Their foe Sunday on the South Regional odds menu is Baylor the bracket's third seed.

Regardless, John Calipari's coaching pedigree and KU's depth has the Wildcats opening as 7-point favorites on the Kentucky Baylor point spread at TopBet today.

One total betting trend appears in this game relative to the spread. When Kenucky is favored by 8 or less points, the UNDER has prevailed in 8 straight games. That's eight straight for the Elite Eight.

The Wildcats are 35-2 so far on the season, and 15-21 ATS vs. the number. The Bears, meanwhile, are 30-7 and 14-15-1 ATS. OVER/UNDER bettors have seen Kentucky go 15-18-2 and the Bears go 17-13 on the totals.

Kansas vs North Carolina: Midwest Odds

The second Elite Eight odds battle to feature the bracket's top two seeds goes in the Midwest Sunday when UNC battles Kansas.

The game at Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis will feel more like a Kansas home game, and North Carolina is a slight 2-point undersog at TopBet. (UNC bettors got a better line at Bovada at +2.5).

That may have more to do with the expected absence of Tar Heel point guard Kendall Marshall. UNC looked disjointed in their OT win over little Ohio on Friday and missing Marshall again could give the edge to the Jayhawks.

Of course, the game features UNC head coach Roy Williams returning to the team he coached for 15 years (and two national finals).

The total was sitting around 143, which could be high if North Carolina struggles to score.

The Tar Heels currently sports a 32-5 record overall in NCAAB action, and have posted a corresponding betting slate of 20-16 ATS. The Jayhawks are 30-6 and 17-17-1 ATS. Betting totals have seen the Tar Heels produce a 17-17-2 OVER/UNDER record on the season, while the Jayhawks have gone 13-21-1 against the number.

Elite Eight Odds: Lower Seeds Cover

A year ago, none of the higher seeds on the Elite Eight odds menu covered the spread, making the higher seeds 0-4 ATS.

And it’s not like they were winning and failing to cover – they were 1-3 SU in those games.

And over the past seven Madnesses, underdogs in the Elite Eight are 20-10 ATS.

So with Florida as the No. 7 seed in the West Final against No. 4 Louisville and No. 2 Ohio State the lower seed to Syracuse in the East on Saturday, does it make sense to back the underdogs?

CIT Tournament Semi Final Betting

The second semi final in the CIT tournament pits Oakland against the Utah State on Sunday in college hoops betting action.

The winner advances to CIT tournament final odds action against the winner of the Fairfield Mercer game Saturday.

Oakland is one of the very best three-point shooting teams in the nation but are 5-point underdogs here at TopBet.

The Aggies currently sports a 20-15 record overall in NCAAB action, and have posted a corresponding betting slate of 14-13-2 ATS. The Grizzlies are 20-15 and 14-13-1 ATS. Betting totals have seen the Aggies produce a 17-12 OVER/UNDER record on the season, while the Grizzlies have gone 15-11-1 against the number.

Ohio State vs Syracuse: East final odds

The top two seeds in the East Region clash Saturday with Ohio State favored to take out top seed Syracuse at most online sportsbooks.

The Buckeyes advanced with a steady beatdown of Cincinnati Thursday, easily covering the point spread. Syracuse was good and lucky in edging Wisconsin by a point.

The Orange are just 3-7 ATS in their past 10 and they lost to the same Bearcats team in the Big East tournament that Ohio State just crushed. OSU opened as 2.5-point favorites at 5Dimes.

Buckeyes bettors have been profiting from the OVER play lately, as the team is 9-1 favoring the OVER in their past 10 games overall. Syracuse is just 2-8 ATS in their past 10 games overall and Fab Melo's absence could finally be the difference for the Orange today.

The Buckeyes will try to spoil to the party on Saturday; they are 19-14 ATS against the number this season, while the Orange are 17-18 ATS. Ohio State is 20-12-1 on the totals; Syracuse is 16-18-1.

Louisville vs Florida: West Final Odds

After improving to 11-0 in the Sweet 16, Rick Pitino's Louisville Cardinals move to the West Region final against Florida Saturday in college basketball wagering action.

But this is not a place where Louisville has been profitable for bettors. In three trips since 2001, the Cardinals are 0-3 ATS.

That contrasts with Florida, which has been a cover machine late in tournaments and is 9-2 ATS in its past 11 Madness games overall.

The Cards stomped Michigan State Thursday and Florida beat Marquette as a small underdog. The lower-seeded Gators (No. 7) are actually favored by a point at TopBet.

Louisville battles the Gators, currently sitting with a 26-10 mark (16-15 ATS). The OVER/UNDER records, always important for totals bettors, are 13-21-1 for the Cardinals and 18-13 for the Gators.

NC State vs Kansas Betting

NC State marched into the Sweet 16 as a No. 11 seed and face a tough underdog role against No. Kansas in the Midwest Region.

And NC State has relished the underdog role, going 8-2 ATS past 10 games as dog. Overall, they are 7-0-1 ATS in their past 8 games overall, turning a tidy profit for their backers.

Kansas meanwhile has all the pressure here and wants a shot at North Carolina in the Midwest final.

It''s the most one-sided betting game of the Sweet 16 by far with nearly two thirds of bettors backing NC State. The best Kansas line was -8, -115 at BetOnline while 5Dimes had the best price for NC State backers.

The Jayhawks bring a 29-6 record (17-16-1 ATS) to this tilt against the 24-12 Wolfpack, who are 17-14-1 ATS. OVER/UNDER bettors have witnessed Kansas go 13-20-1 so far and the Wolfpack go 19-13.

North Carolina vs Ohio Preview

Ohio became just the fifth No. 13 seed to make the Sweet 16 with a pair of upsets last week, but becoming the first team to make the Elite Eight will require a huge upset.

The Bobcats face North Carolina, who lost their starting point guard to injury last week. Does that open the door for Ohio? Does it make them more attractive as a double-digit underdog?

Ohio has been dominant against the spread, going 12-3 ATS past 15 games as underdog. They are also 10-1 SU in their past 11 games overall. [ Watch UNC line moves and pocket special offers at TopBet this week ]

But this is UNC, a team that is 4-1 ATS in five recent trips to the Sweet 16, and the No. 1 seed in the Midwest bracket. Underdog bettors found the best Ohio spread at Bovada earlier today.

The Tar Heels sport records of 31-5 and 20-15 ATS heading into this battle, while the Bobcats have 29-7 and 16-13 ATS marks on the season. The OVER/UNDER records are 17-16-2 for the Tar Heels and 12-17 for the Bobcats.
