NBA Playoff Betting: Heat vs. Celtics

The series basketball fans have been waiting for tips off today, as LeBron James and the Miami Heat battle Kevin Garnett and the Boston Celtics.

Boston was 3-1 versus the Heat this season, but the last time they met up on April 10 Miami crushed the Celtics 100-77 as a 6-point home favorite. James led Miami with 27 points, while Paul Pierce had 24 points for Boston.

Justin Morneau and the Minnesota Twins AL-worst offense look for their quiet bats to wake up today when they face the Kansas City Royals.

Brian Duensing (2-0, 3.00) will get the start for Minnesota today, while Kansas City hands the ball the Sean O'Sullivan (1-1, 4.20). Duensing allowed only one run on five hits over seven innings in a win over Cleveland in his last start. O'Sullivan also faced Cleveland last time out and allowed two runs on five hits in six innings in a no decision.


NBA Betting: Weekend Playoff Matchups

The Memphis Grizzlies have another chance to send the San Antonio Spurs packing on Friday night in Game 6 of their opening-round playoff series.

Memphis nearly knocked out the Spurs in Game 5 before some late-game magic from San Antonio. Down by three with seconds remaining the Spurs put the ball in the hands of the unlikeliest of players, little-known Gary Neal. It turned out to be a brilliant move as Neal buried the game-tying three to send the game to overtime.


MLB Odds: Padres vs. Dodgers

After taking two-of-three from the Padres earlier this season the Los Angeles Dogers host San Diego tonight in the opener of the three-game series.

Clayton Richard (1-1, 3.95) gets the start for San Diego tonight, while Ted Lilly (1-2, 5.13) wil take the mound for the Dodgers. Richard took the loss against Philadelphia in his last start after allowing two runs on six hits in 7 1-3 innings. Lilly was roughed up for five runs on 11 hits in 4 1-3 innings against the Cubs in his last start.


NBA Playoff Betting: Spurs vs. Grizzlies

The San Antonio Spurs avoided elimination versus the Memphis Grizzlies last time out. Can they remain alive tonight when the Spurs and Grizzlies clash in Game 6?

San Antonio won Game 5 110-103 in overtime as a 7-point favorite. Gary Neal hit a clutch three-pointer for the Spurs to send the game to OT, while Manu Ginobili led San Antonio with 33 points. Zach Randolph delivered 26 points and 11 rebounds for Memphis in the loss.


Wings, Sharks in NHL playoff betting

Detroit is still licking its wounds from last year's playoff exit courtesy of San Jose, and that won’t be far from their minds when the two teams renew acquaintances in the second round of the Western Conference playoffs on Friday night in NHL betting action.

The Sharks open the series at home as a slight -120 favorite at despite dominating the Red Wings recently. San Jose took out the Wings in five games in last year’s playoffs, and won three of four during the regular season this year.

NBA Playoff Betting: Dallas at Portland

Down 3-2 in their opening round playoff series, the Portland Trail Blazers have to win to avoid elimination when they face the Dallas Mavericks at home tonight.

The Mavericks took a 3-2 series lead with a 93-82 win in Game 5 as a 5-point favorite. Dirk Nowitzki led the Mavericks with 25 points and eight rebounds, while Andre Miller had 18 points and seven assists for Portland.
