2016-17 Golden State Warriors Championship Betting Props

The Golden State Warriors rocked the NBA when they inked Kevin Durant to a two-year deal when most expected the superstar to return to the Thunder. Sportsbooks also felt the shockwaves from the signing and have reacted by posting some interesting NBA futures lines.

Before they got KD-trey, the Warriors were +200 to win the 2017 NBA Championship; they are now -145 at BetOnline – that’s crazy. What’s more crazy? The field has been tagged with a +115 line to win in 2017 – absolutely unheard of.

Rockies' Chatwood Has The Best Road ERA in The NL

The streaking Dodgers have gained ground on the Giants lately so San Fran will really want to dominate the Rockies at home as they continue their NL West matchup. Madison Bumgarner (9-4, 2.20 ERA) will give Giants a good shot to do that tonight against Tyler Chatwood (8-4, 3.15 ERA).

SHARK BITES
The Rockies are 0-6 against the spread in their last 6 games.
The Giants are 11-2 in their last 13 games with Bumgarner on the mound.
The Rockies are 2-15 in their last 17 games with a closing total of 6.5 or less.

Although Chatwood’s numbers are a little inflated by his starts at Coors Field, his 1.25 road ERA is the best among qualified starters in the NL. He has turned his seven starts away from home into an undefeated 5-0 record. All of the sudden, the Giants don’t look like so much of a lock and +200 feels like insane value.

Bumgarner has been one of the most consistent starts over the last three seasons and this year is no different. The Giants won ten straight games with Madison on the mound between April 25 and June 14. He has, however, been dinged up a little in his last two starts, and with the way Chatwood is pitching on the road, the Giants are at considerable risk to be upset tonight.

Astros Are Flying High as Favorites in Their Last 13

The Astros and Mariners continue their divisional matchup tonight with Houston currently one game up on Seattle in the AL West. Both teams are trying to gain ground on the streaking Rangers so every divisional game from here on in could be pivotal. Taijuan Walker (4-6, 3.29 ERA) will take on Dallas Keuchel (5-9, 5.13 ERA) in Tuesday night’s game.

SHARK BITES
Both teams are 7-3 in their last 10 games.
The Mariners are 0-7 in their last 7 road games.
The Astros are 11-2 in their last 13 games as favorites.

Keuchel is far from the pitcher he was last year in his AL Cy Young Award-winning season but he has posted three straight quality starts that have all resulted in Astros’ wins. The Houston Ace has started two games against the Mariners this year and is 0-1 with a 4.85 ERA.

Walker is finally coming into his own as an MLB starter after an up and down 2015. Although he has not been going all that deep in games because of a nagging foot injury, he has been posting solid numbers. Like Keuchel, Walker also has two 2016 starts against his opponents tonight. He, however, is 1-1 with a 2.00 ERA in his two opportunities.

Rangers Relishing Their Role As Underdogs

Despite dropping the first game of their series to the Boston Red Sox, the Texas Rangers have been a great bet when being pegged as underdogs. The Rangers are 21-8 SU in their past 29 games when closing at plus-money, which will likely occur once again Tuesday.

Shark Bites
  • Adrian Beltre is a career .314 hitter against David Price.
  • The Red Sox are just 3-12 in their past 15 games against the runline.
  • The UNDER is 6-1 in the Red Sox’ past seven games that David Price starts.

A trip to the DL is exactly what A.J. Griffin needed. Since returning to the rotation, Griffin has allowed just three runs while striking out 14 across 9.1 innings.  One of those two starts since returning from the DL was against the Red Sox, an outing in which Griffin allowed just four hits and two runs.

It looked as though David Price had turned a corner, but his last two outings suggest the $200 million man may have regressed. Price has surrendered 21 hits and 10 earned runs in his past two starts – including a performance that saw him yanked in the middle of the third inning against the Rangers.

Maybe Don’t Expect A Miracle When Reds Play Cubs

The not-so-good Cincinnati Reds continue their series with the league-leading Chicago Cubs Tuesday. Taking a hail mary on the Reds may not be the best decision, as Cincy has lost 13 of their past 14 games against the Cubs – which includes a 10-4 loss Monday.

Shark Bites
  • The Cubs are 8-0 in their past eight games against teams with losing records.
  • The OVER is 11-2 in the past 13 games between the Reds and Cubs.
  • The OVER is 6-0 in the Cubs’ past six afternoon games.

The Reds will send Brandon Finnegan to the mound with the youngster coming off the worst outing of his career. Finnegan was pulled just 2.1 innings into his last starts after allowing five hits, eight runs while registering five walks. Finnegan also struggled in his last start against the Cubs – though that came way back in April – as he gave up five earned runs before being yankedafter four innings.

John Lackey has had some less than stellar starts recently, but taking to the bump in Wrigley Field may cure what ails him. Lackey has a 2.01 ERA with opponents hitting just .201 when he gets the ball at home this season.

Shorthanded Wales in Tough Versus Portugal Wednesday

Hands up if you had this semifinal matchup in your Euro 2016 office pool. None of you? Just as I suspected. Yes Portugal takes on Wales in the first semifinal match in France and while the Welsh have performed incredibly well to get this far, the task of getting to the final becomes exponentially more difficult as they’ll be without two of the better players due to suspension.

What Kevin Durant Is Worth To The Point Spread

Oddsmakers have been busy on the Fourth of July holiday thanks to Kevin Durant’s signing with the Golden State Warriors.

Durant inked a deal for two years and $54 million, a move that dropped the Warriors from +150 favorites to win the NBA title to -150. Early in the afternoon, you could still get the Warriors at -115 at BetOnline but that’s about the best you can do.

Griezmann Favorite to Take Home Golden Boot

Euro 2016 is wrapping up and with Antoine Griezmann leading the field of goal scorers, he is the favorite to take home the Golden Boot.

Bovada has odds on who will take home the hardware and Griezmann is currently the overwhelming -140 favorite with the next closest competitor at +700. There is plenty of value on the board, though, as his two teammates Olivier Giroud (+700) and Dimitri Payet (+900) have three goals apiece, one behind the leading Griezmann.
