Verlander takes mound for Detroit

Detroit Tigers ace starting pitcher Justin Verlander will head back to the hill on Thursday afternoon as his team closes out its MLB betting series on the road against the Seattle Mariners.

Verlander is 2-1 with a tiny 1.96 ERA on the season heading into Thursday's start, and he gave up just one run on three hits over his six innings of work against the Athletics last time out. The righthander has fanned 17 batters in 18 1-3 innings this season.

The OVER has paid out for totals bettors in each of the last three games between the Vancouver Canucks and the Dallas Stars as those teams meet on the ice once again on Thursday night.
