Saints vs Chargers: Week 5 odds

The San Diego Chargers hope to continue to avoid their annual slow start with a win against the New Orleans Saints at the Superdome this Sunday. San Diego is 7-2 SU and ATS over its last nine games.

New Orleans, meanwhile, is still looking for its first win of the season. The Saints are 0-5 SU and 1-4 ATS over their last five games after going 9-0 SU and ATS over their previous nine.

The Saints hit their bye week and are 7-1-1 ATS the past nine seasons in this position.

Notre Dame Miami Betting Preview

A rowdy rivalry from a couple of decades ago is renewed when 4-0 Notre Dame and 4-1 Miami-Florida meet at Soldier Field in Chicago Saturday night (7:30 pm ET, NBC).

The Irish, who had last week off after their victory over Michigan, were early 13-point favorites over the Hurricanes, who just won a crazy game over NC State.

If you believe in zig-zags, try this one - the Irish have alternated ATS wins and losses the last nine times they were favored. They are due for an ATS loss here Saturday.

Miami is 5-1 ATS in their past 6 games as a double-digit dog and they recently won at Georgia Tech as 14-point dogs. [ Bet on Notre Dame at Bovada ]

Georgia vs South Carolina Prediction

In a key SEC Eastern Division bout the 5-0 Georgia Bulldogs and 5-0 South Carolina Gamecocks, both 3-0 in conference play, do battle Saturday night in Columbia (7 pm ET, ESPN).

The Gamecocks, coming off a come-from-behind victory over Kentucky, were early field-goal favorites over the 'Dawgs, who just put up 51 points on Tennessee.

South Carolina is 6-1-1 ATS in their past eight games against their SEC rivals. [ Bet on South Carolina or Georgia to win the SEC with the best conference odds at 5Dimes ]

Pick of the Week

Athletics vs Tigers: MLB playoff odds

MLB playoff wagering interest swings to the Detroit vs Oakland battle on Saturday at Comerica Park as the Tigers try to defend home turf and reward moneyline bettors.

Detroit hands the ball to starter Justin Verlander in this one and he'll try to improve on his 17-8 mark on the year in Game 1 of the series. Oakland counters with Jarrod Parker, who will try to quiet the fans and the Tigers bats at the same time.

Florida Gators vs LSU Tigers Betting

In one of those almost-weekly big-time SEC showdowns, the 5-0 LSU Tigers visit the Swamp to play the 4-0 Florida Gators Saturday afternoon (3:30 pm ET, CBS).

LSU, coming off a couple of underwhelming performances in victories over Auburn and Towson State, were early three-point favorites over Gators, who are 3-1 ATS after blanking Kentucky 38-0.

Florida has won twice already as an underdog in 2012, but has lost 8 straight in that role dating back several seasons. [ Bet on LSU or Florida to win the SEC with the latest conference odds at 5Dimes ]

Biggest College Football Line Moves - Week 6

NFL Odds: Week 5 NFL Line Moves

The biggest line move of the week on the NFL betting odds at the online sportsbooks comes from the Ravens vs. Chiefs game in Kansas City, where road-favored Baltimore has gone from a favorite of 4.5 points to 7 points over the last few days.

The Ravens are 3-1 SU but just 2-2 ATS on the season, while the Chiefs sit with records of 1-3 both SU and ATS through the first four weeks. Baltimore blasted Kansas City 30-7 last season as a 3-point road favorite.

Wild Card Betting: St. Louis Atlanta

The visiting Cardinals look to extend their season and defend their title Friday as they look to steal a win at Turner Field against the Atlanta Braves in the one-game Wild Card game.

St. Louis puts its faith in starter Kyle Lohse to earn a win and boost his personal mark of 16-3. Getting the ball for the Braves is Kris Medlen, who owns a 9-0 record on the season with a 0.97 ERA.

USC favored over Utah

The 3-1 USC Trojans, after righting their ship with a victory over Cal, look for conference victory No. 2 when they visit the 2-2 Utah Utes Thursday night (9 pm ET, ESPN).

Southern Cal, which last played in Salt Lake City 95 years ago, were early 13-point favorites over the Utes, who lost their Pac-12 opener at Arizona State by 30 points.

These teams have only met twice in the past decade and both games went well UNDER the total, which had not been set at press time (check it out at 5Dimes).

Last year's game had a crazy finish with the 23-14 final score being changed to a 17-14 final score due to a game-ending  TD and ensuing penalty. But the 23-14 result was restored by the Pac-12, meaning USC covered the 7.5-point spread after all.
