Dallas Completes NBA Longshot Title

When the regular season ended, the ragtag group of veterans and castoffs surrounding Dirk Nowitzki in Dallas was a 20/1 longshot to win the NBA title.

Good thing for Mavericks fans that nobody told the players they had no chance of winning.

The Mavs completed a 4-2 win over Miami on Sunday and fans cheered Nowitzki's longtime search for a title and jeered the Heat, whose free agency moves to bring in LeBron James and Chris Bosh were derided.

NBA Final Odds: Mavericks vs Heat

The Dallas Mavericks can claim their first NBA title tonight if they can get past the Miami Heat in Game 6 of the NBA Finals but oddsmakers don't like their chances, according to the betting line at most shops.

Dallas took a 3-2 series lead with a 112-103 win in Game 6 as a 1-point favorite. Dirk Nowitzki led the Mavericks with 29 points while Dwyane Wade had 23 points and eight assist for Miami. But Dallas has won 13 of the past 15 meetings against Miami. [ Check out a second Game 6 Preview here at OddsShark.com ]

Jeter 3000 Hits Odds

Derek Jeter is inching closer and closer to his milestone 3000th hit and as the hits pile up, so do fun odds on the big event.

Will it happen at Yankee Stadium, home of so many of his career highlights, or on the road? You can wager on it, although the odds will swing as the big hit approaches and you are able to handicap New York’s schedule.

Will Hit # 3000 be a homer or a single? A triple is the biggest longshot choice at 15/1, while the single is the favorite at 1 to 4 (meaning you would win $1 for every $4 you risked).
