MLB Power Rankings: April 25

For the inaugural edition of the MLB Power Rankings the New York Yankees and their potent offense debut on top at No. 1.

The Yankees have come storming out of the gate with their bats this season and lead the majors in home runs early on. Curtis Granderson has hit a team-high seven home runs already after knocking out only 24 last season. Jorge Posada, Mark Teixeira, and Russell Martin are also off to powerful starts with six home runs each. New York begins the week leading the AL East at 12-6 after winning their last three games.


April 30 Boxing Odds Preview

The upcoming weekend offers two anticipated boxing matchups to bet on. One looks like a safe-money bet, while the other has been handicapped close enough to have upset potential. First, on April 29, Rene Alvarado will face Eliecer Lanzas, then, on April 30, Domenico Spada takes on Darren Barker.


MLB Odds: Blue Jays vs. Rangers

The Texas Rangers may own the best record in the American League, but they were only 3-7 against the Toronto Blue Jays last season as they begin a four-game series with Toronto on Monday.

Texas will send Colby Lewis (1-2, 5.82) to the mound today, while Toronto counters with Kyle Drabek (1-0, 3.00). Lewis allowed four runs on five hits in five innings in a loss to the Angels in his last start, while Drabek picked up a no decision against the Yankees last time out after giving up four runs on six hits in 5 1-3 innings.


NBA Playoff Betting: Thunder vs. Nuggets

Holding a 3-0 series lead the Oklahoma City Thunder are one win away from eliminating the Denver Nuggets tonight when they clash in Game 4 of their opening round playoff series.

In Game 3 the Thunder edged the Nuggets 97-94 as a 5-point road underdog. Kevin Durant deposited 26 points for Oklahoma City in the win and Nene Hilario had 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Nuggets.


Baseball Betting: Week Ahead Preview

Red-hot Colorado will be an underdog when it opens a series with the Cubs on Monday, while the rejuvenated Red Sox and Orioles do battle in an expected tight series that begins Tuesday in MLB betting action this week.

Matt Garza (0-2, 4.74 ERA) goes to the mound on Monday for the Cubs, who will be -130 favorites at in Game 1 of the three-game set with Colorado. Esmil Rogers (2-1, 6.75 ERA) gets the ball for the Rockies.


MLB Odds: Reds vs. Cardinals

National League Central rivals clash tonight when the Cincinnati Reds and St. Louis Cardinals finish off a three-game series at Busch Stadium.

Sam LeClure (0-1, 4.15) is scheduled to start for the Reds, but after Friday's rain delay Cincinnati may choose to go with Edinson Volquez (2-0, 6.75) instead. Jake Westbrook (1-2, 9.82) is on tap for St. Louis. LeClure was roughed up for five runs on nine hits in 5 1-3 innings in his last start against Arizona. Westbrook lasted only three innings in his last start after surrendering seven runs on seven his versus Washington.


NBA odds: Heat vs. 76ers

The Miami Heat are one win away from moving on the next round when they take on the Philadelphia 76ers tonight in Game 4 of their opening round playoff series.

The Heat won Game 3 100-94 as a 4.5-point road favorite. Dwyane Wade led Miami with 32 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists, while Elton Brand had 21 points and 11 rebounds for the 76ers.


MLB Odds: Yankees vs. Orioles

The New York Yankees and their AL-best offense head to Baltimore today to face the Orioles in an AL East showdown.

CC Sabathia (0-1, 2.52) will get the start for the Yankees, while Brad Bergesen (0-2, 3.37) gets the ball for Baltimore. Sabathia allowed four runs on eight hits in 6 1-3 innings in his last start against Texas. Bergesen is coming off a loss against Cleveland in which he gave up three runs on six hits in five innings.


NBA Playoff Betting: Thunder vs. Nuggets

Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder take a 2-0 series lead into tonight's Game 3 matchup with the Denver Nuggets.

The Thunder won Game 2 106-89 and covered the 4.5-point spread. Durant led Oklahoma City with 23 points and Ty Lawson netted 20 points for Denver.


Bellator 42 Fight Card Preview

Season Four of the Bellator Fighting Championships is nearing an end as the promotion takes the action to Concho, Oklahoma for Bellator 42. Two semifinal Light Heavyweight tournament matches are scheduled, as well as the Bellator debut of Sengoku veteran and Sharkfights Featherweight title holder Ronnie Mann.
