NFL Injuries: Week 13 Update

Injuries at key positions continue to have an effect on the NFL betting board. And when it comes to quarterbacks, the Houston Texans can’t seem to catch a break - with the exception of the broken bone variety.

Eagles visit Seahawks Thursday

The Eagles and Seahawks have met six times since 1998 and the home team has never won.

Not that these two struggling teams are concerned with that stat, given they both come off humbling losses and play on a short week here in Thursday night. Michael Vick won't play and a handful of injured Eagles may return for this game, which would sway the Eagles Seahawks point spread.

Of note, the OVER is 9-2 past 11 home games for the Seahawks, while the Eagles are 9-1 SU, 8-2 ATS in their past 10 December road games.

SFU vs WVU Football Preview

The West Virginia Mountaineers look to keep their Big East title hopes alive this Thursday night with a win on the road over the South Florida Bulls.

If West Virginia wins and Cincinnati beats Connecticut on Saturday, West Virginia would clinch the Big East’s BCS Bowl berth. South Florida is just 1-6 both SU and ATS in its last seven games since starting the season off 4-0 SU.

Geno Smith passed for 244 yards and a touchdown in West Virginia’s narrow 21-20 win over Pittsburgh last week.

The top-ranked Kentucky Wildcats will play the St. John’s Red Storm in college hoops betting action on Thursday night at Rupp Arena as part of the Big East/SEC Challenge.

Kentucky (6-0 SU, 3-2 ATS) will be a favorite at Bovada against the Red Storm (4-3 SU, 2-3 ATS), who are just 3-6 SU over their past nine road games while only covering the spread in three of their last nine games as well.

Sidney Crosby’s Pittsburgh Penguins will take on the Washington Capitals in NHL betting action between the rival clubs on Thursday night.

Washington bolted out of the gate by winning its first seven games but has since flopped – resulting in head coach Bruce Boudreau getting fired this week and being replaced by Dale Hunter.

Ohio will win the MAC title in an upset and Oregon will cover a huge spread in winning the Pac 12 conference championship.

Those are two of the college football scores predictions this week from the Odds Shark computer.

The computer was a profitable 30-22 ATS last week, and has Houston covering against Southern Miss in the C-USA title game odds situation. [ Best Houston spread had beeen at 5Dimes earlier this week ]

NFL Week 13 Opening Lines

With a dozen weeks already in the books, bettors have had a big enough NFL betting sample size to have a pretty good feel for each team. As a result, with the New England Patriots trending upwards and the Indianapolis Colts still winless, bettors are left with a very rare NFL line this week.

Conference Championship Odds

There are five games between two ranked teams this week in college football betting, and all five games will decide their conference champions. This week’s action will shape the BCS bowl picture.

No. 1 LSU has seemingly already locked up a trip to the BCS National Championship Game, but the Tigers still need one more win over No. 12 Georgia to stay undefeated and win the SEC. Georgia has won 10 straight and is 8-2 ATS over that stretch, while LSU is 12-0 SU and 9-3 ATS on the year.

Saints Giants Monday Night Odds

The Giants looked bad in losing to the Eagles and the Saints got to sit back during their bye week and plan how they could do the same thing to them in the Week 12 Monday Nighter.

New Orleans hosts the MNF battle and the Giants are in tough. However, New York has been a good bet on Mondays, going 7-2 ATS in their past 9 MNF appearances.
The Saints are perfect at home this year but have to cover 7.5 points against the Giants, who came off a weak loss to the Eagles.

Drew Brees is 3-0 in his career vs New York and he's got seven TDs and no picks in those contests.
