Notre Dame ended the season on a 7-1 run against the spread, while Northeastern finished with five covers in its last seven games. So two teams doing a nice job of making money as of late hook up when the ACC champion Irish and CAA champion Huskies play a Midwest Region game Thursday afternoon in Pittsburgh.
Notre Dame finished a strong third in the ACC this season, going 14-4 in its first campaign in its new conference, then won the conference tournament, beating Duke in the semifinals and North Carolina in the championship game. On the season the Irish own other victories over the likes of Michigan State, Purdue, the Tar Heels, the Blue Devils and Louisville. However, Notre Dame will be fighting demons of its recent NCAA Tournament past; it has lost four of its last six opening games, and is just 1-8 ATS in its last nine tournament contests.
