Giants vs Panthers Odds Preview

When the Carolina Panthers host the New York Giants Thursday night at Bank of America Field, bettors should be ready for plenty of offense.

The total has gone OVER in six of the last seven meetings between these two teams. Both teams went OVER in their game last Sunday and six of the seven meetings in franchise history have played OVER the total.

The total opened at 52 Tuesday and New York was a 1-point road favorite at 5Dimes, a position where the Giants have been very tough, going 8-2 ATS past 10 times in this role.

Baylor vs UL Monroe Betting Pick

Baylor has lost four of five road games of late, but they opened as 9-point favorites for Friday night's college football matchup against Louisiana-Monroe.

The Bears are 2-0, but are 0-5 ATS in their past five road games and they face a Warhawks team that has upset Arkansas and nearly upset Auburn a week ago.

Bet Chargers, Texans: Super Bowl Futures

Scrap your Super Bowl future bets on the Patriots and Packers and load up on the 49ers and Texans.

The results of the first two weeks of the season historically mean New England and Green Bay – favorites just two weeks ago – will not be playing in Super Bowl XVII in New Orleans.

The reason? They did not start the year 2-0, a fact that has doomed every NFL team in the past six years (except the New York Giants).

2012 Emmy Awards Odds

Mad Men and Modern Family are the favorites on the odds to win the Emmy Awards for the top television series this Sunday night, with Jimmy Kimmel hosting the 64th annual edition of the show.

Mad Men, which has 17 total nominations, is listed as the 2/1 favorite at Bovada to repeat as the Outstanding Drama Series winner on Sunday, with Downton Abbey at 14/5 to pull off the upset in its first year in this category; the PBS show won the Outstanding Miniseries or TV Movie category last year.

Huge total for Reds-Cubs betting

With 21mph winds blowing out at Wrigley Field the total on tonight’s Cincinnati Reds-Chicago Cubs game opened at a fat 14. This is the 11th time a game has had a total of 14 since 2001. The under is 6-4 in the previous 10.

There also have been 11 games since 2001 with a total of 14.5, with most coming during the steroid era and at Coors Field.

Bovada took the total off the board for awhile Wednesday afternoon.

NFL Betting Trends: Week 3

When the three most-bet NFL games of the week all go against the public, you can be sure oddsmakers are smiling on Tuesday morning.

And after the Patriots, Saints and Cowboys all lost straight up in Week 2, sportsbooks were celebrating a profitable week.

“Sportsbooks hope to get one or two of those big public games, but they got all three of them,” said Jack Randall. “Even losing the late Sunday games and Monday night as the favorites covered four straight times didn’t put a huge dent in the weekend for them.”

Kent State vs Buffalo Betting

This week's college football action begins Wednesday night with a battle in the MAC as the 1-1 Buffalo Bulls host the 1-1 Kent State Golden Flashes (7 pm ET ESPNU).

Buffalo, which put on a decent showing in its season opener vs. Georgia, is favored by three points over KSU, which is coming off a 47-14 loss to Kentucky.

The Bulls are just 3-8-1 ATS in their past dozen games as a favorite, while the Flashes have lost 7 of 8 SU as a road team.

Raiders vs Steelers: Betting Odds

The Oakland Raiders will try to break out of their slump this Sunday when they host the Pittsburgh Steelers at Coliseum.

Oakland is 1-6 SU and 2-5 ATS over its last seven games, although they are 3-1 ATS against Pittsburgh with two outright upsets in the last four games between these two teams.

But Pittsburgh won the last one in a blowout, 35-3. [ Get line updates and injury reports on Twitter ]

Still, Oakland has been tough as a dog (9-3 ATS in past 12 games), while the Steelers have struggled on the road early in the season (2-8 ATS past 10 September road games, including loss at Denver in Week 1).

Jaguars face Colts in Week 3 odds

Andrew Luck hopes to continue the Indianapolis Colts' tradition of dominating the Jacksonville Jaguars alive this Sunday at Lucas Oil Stadium.

The Colts are 15-7 SU in their last 22 games against Jacksonville and 8-3 SU in their last 11 home games against the Jags. Jacksonville is just 1-10 SU in its last 11 games on the road.

Tampa Bay Dallas Betting Odds

The Dallas Cowboys hope to keep a long trend of beating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at home alive with a win at Cowboys Stadium this Sunday.

Dallas is 8-1 SU in its last nine games at home against Tampa Bay and 4-0 ATS over the last four games. Tampa Bay is just 1-11 SU in its last 12 games.

But Dallas as a favorite is historically not a good way to make money. They are just 4-15-1 ATS in 20 recent games as a favorite.
