Anderson Silva will step into the Octagon on less than 72 hours notice to take on Daniel Cormier at UFC 200. Cormier was originally scheduled to defend his UFC Light Heavyweight Championship against Jon Jones at the event, but Jones was pulled from the card after being informed of a potential doping violation.

UFC 200: Aldo vs Edgar II Betting Odds

The UFC Featherweight division will finally move on when Jose Aldo and Frankie Edgar face off for the interim title at UFC 200. Dana White has said that the winner of Aldo vs Edgar II will get a title unification bout with Conor McGregor after he finally makes the excruciating cut down to 145.

Aldo and Edgar, arguably the top two true featherweights in the world, have met once before at UFC 156, a bout that saw ‘Scarface’ win by unanimous decision. Since that fight, Aldo is 3-1, with his 13-second loss to McGregor being his only blemish, while Edgar is a perfect 5-0.

UFC 200: Why Brock Lesnar Beats Mark Hunt

UFC 200 will see the return of one of the biggest draws in the history of MMA, as Brock Lesnar makes his first walk to the Octagon in over four years. Expectations are relatively low for Lesnar in the eyes of many MMA fans, but he has the tools to pick up his first win since 2010.

Can Brock Lesnar beat Mark Hunt? Yes. Will Brock Lesnar beat Mark Hunt? Yes. And here are three reasons why.

Under Cashing in Rockies' Phillies' Matchup

The Rockies will try to rebound tonight after dropping a 5-3 decision to the Phillies yesterday. They will charge Tyler Anderson (0-3, 3.03 ERA) with the task of pitching against Jared Eickhoff (6-9, 3.30 ERA) and the Philadelphia Phillies.

SHARK BITES
Philadelphia is 9-1 ATS in its last 10 road games.
The total has gone UNDER in 4 of the last 5 games in this matchup.
Colorado is 5-1 in its last 6 games vs the Phillies.

Eickhoff has shown plenty of promise through his two years in the Majors but has struggled a bit on the road. He has a 4.53 ERA in eight starts away from home this year and could be in trouble tonight as he pitches in the thin air of Denver.

Rockies rookie Tyler Anderson will make his sixth career start tonight and the trends don’t look good for him. In every start he has made so far, he has given up progressively more runs as Major League hitters have started to figure him out. He has, however, pitched pretty well at home. In three starts at Coors Field, Anderson has posted a 2.50 ERA and struck out 20 batters in 18 innings.

Indians Have Seven Straight Wins With Salazar on the Mound

NYY was beat up by Cleveland last night and dropped another game below .500 in the competitive AL East. They will send out CC Sabathia (5-6, 3.48 ERA) this afternoon to take on Danny Salazar (10-3, 2.36 ERA) and the AL Central-leading Indians, who have cooled off a little since their 14-game winning streak.

SHARK BITES
Cleveland is 14-2 in its last 16 games at home.
The total has gone OVER in 8 of the Yankees’ last 11 road games.
The Indians are 7-0 in their last 7 games with Salazar as their starter.

As we approach the all-star break, the young Danny Salazar is near the top of contention for the AL Cy Young award. The Dominican strikeout artist is in his third year in the league and has improved his numbers every year he’s been in the league. In seven home starts this season, Salazar is 5-1 with a 2.05 ERA.

Sabathia continues to impress this year as it seems getting was the best thing that could’ve happened to him – and the Yankees. CC has been really good on the road, posting a 2.81 ERA away from Yankee Stadium.

Sanchez in Good Position to Extend Jays' Winning Streak to 8

The Jays are rolling and will look for another series win tonight as they take on the Tigers at home. With a win and an Orioles loss, the Blue Jays will take over first place in the AL East. Aaron Sanchez (9-1, 2.94 ERA) will take the hill tonight against former Jay, Matt Boyd (0-2, 6.44 ERA).

SHARK BITES
The Blue Jays are 5-0 in their last 5 home games vs the Tigers.
Toronto is 11-6 in Aaron Sanchez starts this year.
The total has gone UNDER in 5 of Detroit’s last 7 road games.

This will be Boyd’s first game since being recalled from Triple-A and he should be a little nervous, given how he has pitched this season and how hot the Jays’ offense is right now. In his last two Major League starts, Boyd has given up 13 combined runs over only eight innings pitched. His last game against the Jays, however, resulted in a Tigers win after he hurled 5.1 innings of three-hit, one-run ball.

Steady as she goes for Sanchez. Aaron leads the league in quality starts and winning percentage. This kid just keeps getting better and better but it’s likely he will soon be sent to the bullpen as he is approaching a yet to be announced innings cap. In his last start against the Tigers, Sanchez pitched eight innings, gave up only two runs and fanned 12 in a Jays 3-2 loss.

UFC 200: Why Mark Hunt beats Brock Lesnar

UFC 200 got a major boost with the addition of Brock Lesnar who will make his return to the Octagon after a lengthy absence to fight knockout artist Mark Hunt. Lesnar will enter the fight as the underdog, and deservedly so.

I like Hunt to send Lesnar back to the WWE with his third straight loss in the Octagon. Here’s why:
