Seahawks Remain SB 50 Betting Threat

How much respect do oddsmakers have for the Seattle Seahawks?

Despite an 0-2 start to the 2015 season, which our database analysis tells us all but dooms a team from even making the playoffs, the Seahawks remain favorites to win their division and remain the third betting choice to win Super Bowl 50.

“True they have started 0-2, but they have started with two very tough road tasks in St. Louis and Green Bay,” said Kevin Bradley, sportsbook manager at Bovada.lv, who re-set the NFL futures Tuesday.

College Football Week 4 Odds Analysis

The Western Michigan Broncos are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games as an underdog of two touchdowns or more against Big Ten opponents. The Broncos will be in the role of a big underdog this Saturday visiting the Ohio State Buckeyes.

SN: NFL Week 3 Opening Odds Analysis

What happens when you take away $100 million man Tony Romo and $70 million man Dez Bryant from the Dallas Cowboys lineup?

You get garbage at the skill positions and Atlanta opening as a road favorite against the 2-0 Cowboys.

The Falcons are 2-0, too, under new coach Dan Quinn. But they would have been around a touchdown underdog if the Cowboys had Romo and Bryant.

Patriots are 9-1 SU Against the Jaguars

The New England Patriots have played the Jacksonville Jaguars 10 times since the Jags' inception, with the Pats going a near-perfect 9-1 SU. Jacksonville will try to win their first game against New England since January 1999 when they visit Foxborough.

If we have learned one thing from the Deflategate circus it is that a motivated Tom Brady is terrifying. Brady has thrown for 754 yards with seven touchdowns and no interceptions through the first two games of the season.

Jaguars wide receiver Allen Robinson put the NFL on notice in Week 2 when the sophomore receiver caught six balls for 155 yards and two touchdowns. Robinson accounted for one third of the Jaguars' catches in the team's win over the Dolphins.

The Jacksonville Jaguars will look to cover ATS vs their hosts on Sunday, as they are 1-1 ATS versus the spread this season, while the New England Patriots are 1-0-1 ATS. Jacksonville is 1-1 against the over under total, while New England is 1-1 versus the number.

Yankees 1-5 SU in Their Last Six vs Jays

Entering Tuesday night’s game the New York Yankees are 1-5 SU in their last six games against the Toronto Blue Jays. However, New York has won four out of starter Luis Severino’s last five starts.

Both teams have been trending towards the under total, with the Yankees going under in four of their last five road games and Toronto going under in four of their last five. Toronto has also gone under in 12 of their last 17 home games.

Mariners 6-1 in 7 Iwakuma’s Road Starts

Hisashi Iwakuma has had a stellar season when in enemy territory, which has the Seattle Mariners going 6-1 in the pitcher’s seven starts on the road this season. Iwakuma takes the bump for the Mariners on Tuesday when they continue their series with the Kansas City Royals.

Iwakuma is undefeated on the road in his own right with a 4-0 record while posting a 2.78 ERA with batters hitting .220 against the rightie.

The Royals have been far from the team of the American League that many saw this season recently as they have gone 5-11 in their past 16 games. It has been Kansas City’s pitching that has been struggling the worst during their past 16 games with opponents averaging nearly six runs per game.

Giants 4-0 SU & ATS Past Four vs Skins

The New York Giants should be happy to see the Washington Redskins on Thursday, as they have won their past four games SU and ATS against their NFC East rivals. The Giants outscored the Redskins 113-50 in those four games.

The Giants are trying to stave off starting the season 0-3 after dropping two close losses to the Cowboys in Week 1 and the Falcons in Week 2. Though the early season has been marked by some questionable decisions, Odell Beckham Jr. has tallied 190 yards and a touchdown.

The Redskins have been all about the run game this season, with the team averaging 171.5 yards per game. Washington's offensive line also held a dominant Rams defensive line in check by only allowing one sack.

The New York Giants sit at 0-2 (1-1 ATS) on the season; in comparison, the Washington Redskins are currently 1-1 (1-1 ATS). Looking to bet on the totals? New York is 1-1 OU, and Washington is 0-2 OU.

Memphis Riding 10-Game SU Win Streak

The Memphis Tigers will be gunning for an 11th straight SU win on Thursday night when they host the Cincinnati Bearcats.

The Tigers are 5-0 SU, 3-2 ATS, in their past five home games, and have seen the point total play OVER in nine of their last 11 overall, while scoring 40 or more points in seven of those contests, and an average of 54 points over their last three.

The Bearcats are off to a 2-1 SU start this season, improving them to 9-2 SU in their last 11, but are winless ATS in their past five. Their 37-33 win over the Miami-Ohio RedHawks last weekend was their fifth straight SU road win, but they failed to cover as 20.5-point chalk.

Cincinnati has enjoyed recent success against the Tigers, going 5-2 SU, 6-1 ATS, in their last seven, including a 34-21 win in Memphis in 2013.
