Miami to Continue Bronco Domination?

Miami remains one of three winless teams and comes home to face a beatable Denver Broncos squad who will embark on a Tim Tebow regime.

That regime could last a quarter, a game, or maybe a season or two, but the former Heisman winner returning to Florida will create a bit of a circus atmosphere. Miami just wants a win and did not play well in losing to the Jets on Monday night. [ Check out story on Tim Tebow prop bets this week ]

Betting line favors Lions over Falcons

Atlanta heads to Detroit in need of a victory and looking to dump a second straight loss on the Lions.

And if recent trends involving the Falcons before their bye week hold up, this will be an Atlanta cover. In the past 10 seasons, Atlanta is 8-2 ATS before their bye week and they opened getting 4.5 points on the road.

Detroit is 9-1-1 ATS in its last 11 games despite their Week 6 loss, while the Falcons are 7-3 ATS in their past 10 games vs Detroit.

Opening Lines: Lions favored vs. Falcons

With the Detroit Lions picking up their first loss of the season last week, the Green Bay Packers stand alone as the NFL’s last remaining undefeated team. The Packers head to Minnesota this week, while the Detroit Lions will try to bounce back at home against the Atlanta Falcons.

TopBet currently lists the Lions as a 3.5-point favorite over the Falcons. Detroit’s loss to San Francisco last week was the first time they’d lost ATS in 10 games, as they are now 9-1-1 ATS in their last 11. Atlanta is 2-5 ATS in their last seven games.

Stanford 20 Point Chalk vs Huskies

The Stanford Cardinal are a perfect 6-0 both SU and ATS, and will look to stay that way this week at home against the Washington Huskies.

Washington is also off to a strong start at 5-1 SU and ATS, but are just 1-5 SU and 1-4-1 ATS in their last six games against Stanford.

Andrew Luck kept his Heisman campaign rolling with a 336-yard, four touchdown game against Washington State last week.

Sun Belt NCAA football betting

Two Sun Belt conference rivals are on display Tuesday night when the Florida International Golden Panthers visit the Arkansas State Red Wolves.

Both teams are off to 4-2 SU starts, but Arkansas State is 5-1 ATS to FIU’s 3-3. Arkansas State’s junior quarterback Ryan Aplin passed for 261 yards and rushed for 35 in a win over Louisiana-Monroe.

FIU has won five straight on the road and sit as 3-point underdogs here and they are averaging 305.5 YPG in home rushing so far this season. The home team has won five of six meetings.

NASCAR Betting: Good Sam Club 500

The Chase for the Sprint Cup is half over, but the NASCAR betting board still doesn't have a runaway championship favorite as the series heads to Talladega this weekend for the Good Sam Club 500.

Carl Edwards holds down first place in the Sprint Cup standings after five Chase races, but he leads Kevin Harvick by just five points and Matt Kenseth by only seven points on that list. Edwards is the 2/1 favorite at Bovada to win the Sprint Cup this season, with Harvick at 5/2 odds, and Kenseth at 4/1 odds.

Opening Lines: Stanford vs. Washington

All three of this week’s games between two ranked opponents feature conference rivals, which always adds intrigue even when a large spread suggests otherwise. Last week, three undefeated teams fell; will any more join their ranks this week?

Jets vs Dolphins in AFC East tilt

Miami comes off a bye week to face the division-rival New York Jets, a team they have beaten ATS the past three times (all as an underdog).

The Dolphins are 5-2 ATS in their past seven post-bye games on the road and that is the situation on the Monday Night odds menu where the roadies open as 9-point underdogs. Miami is winless SU and ATS so far in 2011.

Patriots heavy chalk vs Cowboys

New England heads into a bye week by hosting the Dallas Cowboys, a team that has benefitted from an extra week of rest and practice.

Dallas has been solid for bettors in this situation, going 5-1 ATS in the past 6 seasons following a bye week. And they are getting 7.5 points early in the week from oddsmakers.

Once again, the OVER could be the play where the Pats are concerned. In 20 recent games as a favorite, the OVER prevailed 17 times.

Think the Patriots will score more than 30 points again? Bovada has odds posted on that in their NFL props section, check it out among hundreds of other fun wagers that can turn a profit.

Bolts, Panthers on NHL betting lines

Tampa Bay went deep into the Stanley Cup playoffs last year, but can’t quite find that groove in the early going this season. The Lightning will have to fend off the state-rival Panthers when the two clash in the second game of a home-and-home set on Monday in NHL betting action.
