Warriors are Covering With Ease in Miami

Draymond Green Hassan Whiteside

The high-flying Golden State Warriors are off to the best 55-game start in NBA history (50-5 SU) and will face a defense-oriented bunch on Wednesday when they take their talents to South Beach to tangle with the Heat. Miami (32-24 SU). Historically, the Dubs have enjoyed the Florida sun, as they’ve gone 7-0 ATS in their last seven at American Airlines Arena.

Shark Bites
  • The Heat are 5-2 SU and ATS in their last seven games against teams with winning records.
  • The total has gone OVER in four of the Warriors' last five games with one day off between games.
  • The Heat are 2-5 ATS in their last seven games when underdog of 8.5 or more.

Just how different are these squads? The Dubs average the most fast-break points in the Association, but no team has given up fewer points on the break per game than the Heat. Stephen Curry and company top the league in three-point accuracy, with the Heat boasting the sixth-best defense against the trey ball.

Unsurprisingly, the Warriors are the best OVER team in the NBA (31-24 O/U) and the Heat own the most UNDERs so far in the 2015-16 campaign at 20-35 O/U. Sportsbooks opened the total for tonight’s matchup at 215.

Steve Kerr’s crew have hit a major skid at the betting window as of late. In their prior five affairs, the Warriors are just 1-4 ATS. Oddsmakers have tabbed them as 8.5-point faves for the tilt.

Hornets are Becoming Road Warriors

Nicolas Batum Kyrie Irving

Quicken Loans Arena is not an easy place to play, but the Charlotte Hornets appear to be up to the task ahead of Wednesday’s contest with the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Hornets are on a nice run away from North Carolina, garnering victories in four-straight road games. With a win tonight, they would establish their longest road winning streak since 2002. Kemba Walker and company were just 6-17 away from home prior the run.

Shark Bites
  • The Hornets are 5-0 SU in their last five games.
  • The total has gone OVER in five of the Cavaliers' last six games with one day off between games.
  • The Hornets are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games against the Cavaliers.

Charlotte, who opened as 8.5-point underdogs, has not been getting the job done when it comes to cashing spread tickets in this spot. The Hornets are a paltry 1-5 ATS in their last six games when tabbed as dogs of 8.5 points or more.

For the Cavs, it’s all about finding consistency under newly-appointed head coach Tyronne Lue with the playoffs on the horizon. The wine and gold sit atop of the East with a record of 40-15 SU and are the unquestioned favorites to represent the conference in the Finals. Fresh off a 96-88 loss to the Detroit Pistons on Monday, the Cavaliers are historically solid at bouncing back, going 5-1 in their last six coming off a setback in their previous game.

When facing totals of 205.5 or less, Charlotte has been a great source for UNDER bettors, as the Hornets are 1-4 O/U in their last five in that position. The total opened at 205.5 at most sportsbooks.

NBA Focus: When to Bet the Lakers

Kobe Bryant

It’s been a year of transition for the Los Angeles Lakers as they’ve basically gone from being the laughingstock of the NBA to a somewhat sympathetic club as Kobe Bryant conducts his farewell tour. At dead last in the Western Conference the only positive direction this team is going in is to the top of the NBA Draft, but if you’ve been paying attention, the team has been quite profitable for bettors lately.

Why Aren't More People Betting on Hillary?

OK, so Hillary Clinton is -1000 to win the Democratic nomination for President and -8000 to win the South Carolina primary.

But the price gets a whole lot more tempting with Presidential election odds, where Clinton is set as low as even money. That's a 100 percent return on your wager if she wins.

Flames Heating Up for OVER Bettors

Jonas Hiller Calgary Flames NHL

The struggling Calgary Flames do not provide bettors any consistent value in moneyline markets, but they have been on a tear for OVER bettors in recent contests. OVER backers will look for that to continue when the Flames head to STAPLES Center and visit the Los Angeles Kings Tuesday night.

Shark Bites
  • The Kings are 1-5 SU in their last six games as favorites.
  • The Kings are 7-2 SU in the last nine games against the division.
  • UNDER has cashed in four of the last five meetings between the Kings and Flames.

OVER tickets have cashed in four-consecutive Flames games heading into Tuesday night’s contest versus the Kings courtesy a whopping eight goals per game on average over that span. The Flames have been on the wrong end of the scoreboard in three of those four games, as opponents have lit the lamp 18 times.

The Kings finally snapped a three-game losing streak with a 2-1 overtime victory over the Nashville Predators Saturday night. While Calgary has been a hot OVER wager, the Kings have been equally reliable for UNDER bettors. A complete lack of goalscoring has helped the UNDER cash in four-straight Kings' games as L.A. has managed just four goals in the previous four contests.

With both the Anaheim Ducks and San Jose Sharks making a serious push toward the top spot in the Pacific Division, the Kings need to start stringing some wins together and keep their spot on the throne.

Jayhawks Decimating Rival Bears

The Kansas Jayhawks hold a 1.5-game lead in the Big 12 and will look to claim at-least a tie for the Big 12 regular season crown for the 12th consecutive season. To ensure they maintain a healthy lead heading into the final stretch of action, Kansas will need to get passed the ranked Baylor Bears Tuesday. This has been a task that the Jayhawks have been up to with the team going a perfect 6-0 SU and ATS in the past six meetings between the two teams.

Kansas enters Tuesday’s action on a seven-game winning streak, with six of those coming within the Big 12. Those six conference games have seen the Jayhawks win by an average of 14.5 points while shooting 51 percent.

Baylor comes into the game on an impressive two-game winning streak despite Rico Gathers playing a combined 15 minutes in those games due to the flu. Jonathan Motley stepped up big in Gathers absence, with the sophomore averaging 25.5 points and seven rebounds in those games.
