Warriors Face Historically Big Spread

Golden State Warriors Stephen Curry Klay Thompson

Amazingly, the Golden State Warriors have looked like an even better team than last year’s championship-winning squad a week and a half into the 2015 NBA campaign. Sportsbooks have been forced to react as a result, and the spreads the Dubs are seeing have been the highest we’ve witnessed this early in a season in quite some time.

Red Wings Producing as Road Favorites

Detroit Red Wings Dylan Larkin

Toronto head coach Mike Babock will make his second appearance against his old team when the Maple Leafs welcome the Detroit Red Wings to the Air Canada Center in Friday’s NHL action. The Wings topped the Buds 4-0 on Oct. 9 as -172 home favorites but were in the -115 ballpark for the rematch at the time of writing.

Shark Bites
  • The total has gone over in 10 of the Maple Leafs' last 13 games in November.
  • The Red Wings are 4-12 SU in their last 16 games after a win.
  • The Maple Leafs are 1-6 SU in their last seven games at home.

Toronto fell 4-2 to the Winnipeg Jets on Wednesday and had a day off to catch their breath prior to the contest. The extra rest hasn’t translated into wins for the Leafs, however, as Dion Phaneuf’s squad is just 4-18 in games after having one day off dating back to last season.

Detroit hasn’t had any issues getting the job done as road chalk. The Red Wings are 9-2 in their last 11 tilts when listed as road favorites.

Cavaliers Struggling ATS vs 76ers

LeBron James Cavaliers

Perhaps the biggest mismatch in the NBA goes down tonight in Cleveland with the Cavaliers hosting the 76ers. The Cavs opened as double digit favorites, going as high as -16 at some books, but ATS bettors should be wary as Cleveland has only beaten Philadelphia by ten or more points once in the last four times they’ve played, going 0-4 ATS vs the Sixers in those games.

The Cavs have won three in a row SU vs the Sixers, including a 107-100 win on Monday. In 38 career games vs Philadelphia, LeBron James has been a stat machine, averaging 26.7 points, 6.8 boards, and 7.4 assists.

Besides a strong ATS record vs the Cavs, Philly doesn’t have much else going for them. Even playing after a day off, they’ve gone 0-9 SU in their last nine and they’ve been awful on the road, going 0-7 SU over their last seven. The Sixers are currently last in the league in points per game and are coughing up the second most turnovers in the league. It looks like the never ending rebuilding project in Philadelphia will continue for at least one more year.

NBA Betting: Pistons-Suns Odds

Andre Drummond Detroit Pistons

The Detroit Pistons have raised some eyebrows out of the gate in the 2015 campaign and will take their talents to Phoenix for a date with the Suns on Friday. The Pistons, who are coming off a 94-82 loss to the Pacers on Tuesday, are traditionally a solid bet to bounce back at the betting window. Detroit is 9-0 ATS in its last nine games after dropping the previous game.

Shark Bites
  • The Pistons are 7-0 ATS in their last seven games after losing as favorite.
  • The total has gone under in 12 of the Suns' last 15 games with one day off.
  • The Pistons are 6-0 ATS in their last six games against the Suns.

The visiting team took each of the two meetings last season, but Stan Van Gundy’s squad managed to cover the spread in both affairs. The Suns (3-2 SU) have been a solid play this year, going 4-1 ATS to start the season.

Friday’s contest features a reunion of the Morris twins in the wake of Marcus getting shipped off to Motown in the offseason. Marcus has played great in his new role in the form of 17.3 points and 7.5 rebounds as a member of the Pistons’ starting unit. Markieff, who vocalized his displeasure about the move, is averaging 12.4 points on 34.3 percent shooting through five games.

Super Computer Week 9 Contest Picks

Inconsistency continues to dog the OddsShark Super Computer after a 2-2-1 record in Week 8. Despite some struggles, the Super Computer has only posted two losing weeks through the first half of the season, which has it tied for fourth place in the Team OddsShark standings.

Duke Can’t Get Over The Hump vs UNC

Though the Duke/UNC rivalry has always gotten the publicity on the court, this football showdown will have major implications on the ACC. However, Duke has been on the wrong side of the rivalry with the Blue Devils losing 17 of the past 20.

Duke is coming off two extremely close games; a quadruple-overtime victory over Virginia Tech and a three-point loss to Miami. The Blue Devils, who have prided themselves on defense this season, have allowed a combined 73 points in their past two games.

The Tar Heels have yet to lose a game since opening their slate with a loss and they look like a completely different team. The Tar Heels have been stepping their game up against better competition, especially last week when they contained Pitt’s running game.

UFC Fight Night 77 Betting Odds Preview

Vitor Belfort

The third, and almost certainly, final fight between Vitor Belfort and Dan Henderson main events a card in Sao Paulo, Brazil Saturday. Hendo took the first bout back in 2006 when both fighters were in Pride, while Belfort scored a quick and decisive knockout in the second fight in 2013.

NFL Week 9 Expert Betting Odds Picks

Going with two favorites and a total for the NFL Week 9 card. Let's begin with the totals play, which is under 45 on the Atlanta-San Francisco game.

The 49ers have played much stronger defense at Levi's Stadium giving up an average of only 15 points per game. That would rank No. 1 in the NFL if that number included all of San Francisco's games.

Warriors Cashing Tickets vs Kings

Bettors of the Golden State Warriors have been cashing in at a rapid pace when their team has matched up against the Sacramento Kings lately. In their last six games against Sacramento, the Dubs are a perfect 6-0 ATS. The pair of California rivals will face off once again Saturday at Oracle Arena.

Shark Bites
  • The OVER is 6-1 in the Kings' last seven overall.
  • The UNDER is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings between the clubs.
  • The favorite is 6-0 ATS in the last 6 meetings.

To the surprise of absolutely no one, the Warriors have come out of the gate strong and are sitting atop of the Western Conference at 6-0 SU through its first six games. The Warriors claimed all four matchups against the Kings last season by an average of 22 points.

Sacramento was a trendy sleeper pick to make the playoffs in the Western Conference in the preseason but have looked like anything but a contender. The Kings have stumbled to start the year on the court and at the betting window, going 1-5 SU and 2-4 ATS for their bettors through six games.

Alabama Failing to Cover At Home

Alabama Running Back Henry

Despite a 4-1 SU record at home this season, the Alabama Crimson Tide have failed to cover in every single one of those games. ‘Bama will not have an easy task to end that trend this weekend as they play host to Leonard Fournette and LSU on Saturday.

The biggest matchup in college football this weekend will be Alabama’s run defense against Fournette. ‘Bama has only allowed a 100 yard rusher twice this season and are third in the nation in rushing yards allowed. However they will be facing current Heisman favorite Fournette who leads the country in rushing yards and rushing touchdowns.

A win for LSU this weekend will mean a lot for a team that is facing teams ranked in the Top 25 in three of their final four games of the regular season. On the other sideline, a loss by ‘Bama means they will likely be kissing their SEC title hopes goodbye.
