NFL Prop Odds Focus on QBs

After two straight weeks of the NFL lighting up the scoreboard to the tune of 172 touchdowns and 15,771 passing yards (both all-time highs through two weeks), it’s no surprise that most of this week’s props revolve around offenses; and more specifically, quarterbacks.

Here’s a look at some of this week’s most interesting prop bets over at Bovada, which is soon wrapping up its mammoth 100% deposit bonus.

Brady vs. Fitzpatrick

Pittsburgh favored big over Colts

Pittsburgh is a double-digit favorite for the second straight week, this time on the road against the struggling Indianapolis Colts.

A week after shutting out Seattle, the Steelers face the 0-2 Colts. The teams have met seven times since 1996 with each teams alternating ATS wins - if the pattern holds, its time for a Pittsburgh cover.

NFL Matchup - Bears Packers Odds

Green Bay has dominated Chicago at Soldier Field over the years, going 10-3 ATS.

But in this NFC North battle is the total the best bet of the night? The past seven meetings of the Bears and Packers have played UNDER the total.

The Packers thrashed the Saints, and the Saints thrashed the Bears. Perhaps the opening spread of 3 points is flattering to Chicago.

Bears backers must be mindful of Green Bay's recent dominance as a favorite. They are 9-1 SU, 8-2 ATS past 10 games as betting chalk.

OVER best bet in Patriots Bills Game?

If the Bills can shake this trend and move to 3-0 against their biggest tormentors, then NFL bettors will know Buffalo is for real.

The New England Patriots have won 15 in a row SU against Buffalo and 19 of the past 20 meetings, dominating the Bills like no other team.

It's no better at Rich Stadium, where the Pats are 10-1 SU and 8-2-1 ATS the past 11 seasons. But this seems to be a different Buffalo team, sitting at 2-0.
Still, is it enough to beat a team riding a 7-1 ATS streak on the road and which is 7-2 ATS in its past 9 games as a favorite?

Vick remains key to Eagles Giant line

Mike Vick's status was worth about 6 points on the Eagles Giants line as Philly opened at -7.5 and has jumped to -10 at some shops.

The point spread remains all over the map due to the late posting and there is still a 2.5 point swing to be had - that is huge value for bettors.

New York has lost 6 in a row SU and ATS against Philly and the Giants have been a reliable OVER bet (8-2 past 10 September road games and 10-3 past 13 Giant games within NFC East).

Week 3 NFL Live Odds Update

Games may only be played on Sundays and Mondays, but handicapping the NFL is a full-time job. Staying on top of injuries, suspensions, weather, and all the other factors that go into the games each week requires attention all week long.

Here is a recap of some late news this week to get you up to date heading into the weekend.

Mike Vick set to play Sunday

UFC 135 Betting Odds

Jon “Bones” Jones will be a heavy favorite to defend his UFC Light Heavyweight title against former champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson at UFC 135 this Saturday night, but according to Jackson MMA oddsmakers have it all wrong.

As a 5Dimes favorite the price on Jones currently sits at -550. That price has steadily risen from the original line of -340. Most MMA bettors at 5Dimes seem to think Jones will dominate Jackson and have pushed the upset payout on Rampage up from +280 to the current +425 line.

LSU Favored vs West Virginia

The UNDER may be the play Saturday night in West Virginia when the second-ranked LSU Tigers visit the Mountaineers.

The total has gone UNDER in five of LSU’s last six road games and five of West Virginia’s last seven home games, and also stayed UNDER the posted 44 when these teams met at LSU last season.

This weekend’s total is currently set at 50.5 in this Top 25 battle as WVU is ranked No. 16.

Sooners host Tigers in Week 4 action

Despite the offensive profiles of these two teams, the UNDER may be the play Saturday night when the Missouri Tigers visit the Oklahoma Sooners.

The total has gone UNDER in five of Oklahoma’s last six home games and four of Missouri’s last six road games.

The current total of 56.5 seems deceptively low for two high-profile offenses like these, as bookmakers may be trying to entice bettors into playing the OVER.

Oklahoma State vs Texas A M Preview

Despite possessing the best passing attack in college football, the Oklahoma State Cowboys are an underdog this week on the road against the Texas A&M Aggies.

Oklahoma State (No. 7 in the latest AP poll) has had success against Texas A&M recently, going 3-1 straight up and 3-0-1 ATS in their last four meetings.

The Cowboys currently sit as a 3.5-point road underdog against the No. 8 rated Aggies, who have made headlines this year off the field with pledges to leave the Big 12.
