Golden Globes betting lines released

The sportsbooks have released their odds to win the top prizes at the 71st Golden Globe Awards on Sunday night, and 12 Years a Slave and American Hustle are holding down the top spots on the odds to win Best Picture Drama and Best Picture Musical or Comedy.

12 Years a Slave is the -400 favorite at Bovada on the odds to win the Golden Globe for Best Picture Drama this weekend, with Gravity at +275, Captain Phillips at +1800, Philomena at +5000, and Rush at +8000.


Lakers on the road to face Rockets

The Los Angeles Lakers have already picked up a SU and ATS victory over the Houston Rockets this season as those two teams meet in NBA odds action on Wednesday.

Los Angeles pulled off a 99-98 upset win as a 13.5-point road underdog in the first meeting of the season between the Western Conference clubs back on November 7.

That was the third UNDER result in the past four games between the teams.

Florida State opens as the 2015 favorites

For the first time in four years, Alabama does not open as the early favorite to win the next college football national championship.

Florida State fans had a million reasons to smile after the Seminoles rallied to beat Auburn in the final minute of the BCS Championship Game.

Sportsbook operators had about 10 times as many reasons to smile.

“From what we have heard around the online world today, it sounds like a $10 million swing on that one pass from Jameis Winston to Kelvin Benjamin with 13 seconds left,” said NFL analyst Jack Randall.


Grizzlies prepare for visit from Spurs

The San Antonio Spurs have paid out for NBA bettors in seven of their last eight games against the Memphis Grizzlies as those teams hit the hardwood together on Tuesday night.

Overall the Spurs are 8-2 SU and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games against the Grizzlies dating back to 2012, with the OVER 5-1 in their past six meetings.

San Antonio bounced Memphis 102-86 as a 1-point road favorite in their November 22 matchup.

Penguins out west to battle Canucks

Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins will hit the ice out on the west coast on Tuesday night as they take on the Vancouver Canucks in marquee NHL betting action at the sportsbooks.

The Penguins got past the Canucks 4-3 as a -153 home favorite on the NHL odds in their first meeting of the season on October 19.

The only undefeated school in the country, Florida State will be looking to stay that way on Monday as they face Auburn in the BCS National Championship Game.

And if recent history holds true, the Seminoles will cover this big spread, which opened at nine points in early December.

Florida State went to 13-0 on the season by running roughshod over Duke in a 45-7 victory in the ACC Championship Game, covering a big 30-point spread at the sportsbooks in the process.
