Titans vs Texans: Week 16 Odds and Pick

JJ Watt

The Houston Texans will look to grab a strangle hold on the AFC South division lead when they visit the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. The Texans have been as close as it gets to being a sure thing vs the Titans, as they’ve gone 8-1 ATS in their last nine games against them.

There’s no other way to put it—the Titans are a horrible bet against division opponents. They’ve gone a pathetic 1-9-1 ATS in their last 11 games against divisional foes. The Titans will once again be in contention for the top draft pick in the NFL draft, but will have the opportunity to “improve” upon their AFC worst 1-6 SU home record.

After two losses in a row the Texans got back on track with an ugly 16-10 win over the Colts in Week 15. Brandon Weeden stepped for an injured T.J. Yates and he could get the call vs the Titans if injured started Brian Hoyer doesn’t get cleared. It could be a battle of the back-ups as Zach Mettenberger is set to start in place of Marcus Mariota (knee).

This one has the makings of the can miss game of the year.

Akron On Four-Game ATS Winning Streak

Akron Zips Football

The Akron Zips were in danger of missing out on the Bowl season as they had a 3-5 record midway through the season, but they got their act together and went 4-0 SU and ATS in their final four games. Akron will take on the Utah State Aggies in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl in Boise on December 22nd.

The Zips have gotten this far in the season based on a good defense and an offense that has been good enough. Akron has allowed 21.5 points per game while holding opponents to under 20 points in six games this season, but are averaging a mere 24 points per game.

Utah State has played a good portion of their season with senior Chuckie Keeton at quarterback, but he has started their final two games of the regular season. Keeton’s numbers don’t jump off the page this season, but his athleticism and ability to extend plays will be a tough task for Akron.

NCAAF: Bowl Game Scoring Props

The college bowl season is quickly approaching and teams of all shapes and sizes will clash with the hopes of hoisting a trophy. With the sheer magnitude of bowl season, there are a lot of props that could intrigue bettors, including many to do with points scored throughout the following month of college football action.

Thunder are a Great Bet vs Clippers

Kevin Durant Thunder

The Oklahoma City Thunder have been on a bit of a tear recently, winning seven of their last eight games. They’ve also been great against the spread when playing the Clippers, going 6-2 ATS in their last eight against them, but more importantly ahead of tonight’s game at STAPLES Center, they’ve gone 5-0 ATS in their last five road games vs the Clips.

A slow start for the Clippers has carried over to December as they continue to underwhelm, going just 4-6 SU in their last 10 games. Even worse, they’ve been far from a reliable bet this season, posting an overall ATS record of 9-17-2, which includes a 5-10 home ATS record.

Tonight’s game opened with a total of 208, and both of these teams are trending UNDER. OKC has gone UNDER in 11 of their last 13 games, while LA has gone UNDER in six of their last eight home games. Also of note, the total has gone UNDER four of the last five times between these team when playing in LA.

Kevin Durant has been a scoring machine vs the Clippers in 26 career games against them, averaging 28.9 points

NBA: Orlando Continues to Cash Tickets

Orlando Magic NBA

The Orlando Magic are a young team on the rise that has been making their backers’ wallets fatter all season long. The Magic have gone 11-2 ATS in their last 13 games ahead of tonight’s game at Madison Square Garden vs the Knicks.

The Magic opened as 2.5 point favorites vs a Knicks team who are an even 7-7 ATS at home this season. Orlando has been a great bet on the road this season, posting a 10-3 road ATS record, which includes going 5-0 in their last five on the road.

The Knicks have been on a mini roll of their own, going 5-0 ATS in their last five games. They’ve also been winners of four in a row SU, beating the Bulls 107-91 their last time out on Saturday.

The Magic beat the Knicks 100-91 in Orlando on November 25th, covering a 1.5 point spread. The game went UNDER, making it three straight UNDERs between the teams.

Stars Have Had Wild's Number This Year

The Dallas Stars have taken both games against the Minnesota Wild this season, but each of those contests were settled by just one goal. Jamie Benn has been a big factor in those wins for the Stars with the winger tallying two goals and three assists. The Stars and Wild will renew their competitive rivalry Monday night.

If Dallas wants to extend their led in the Central Division, or if any team wants to try and catch up, now is the time as Dallas plays five of their next six contests against division opponents. The Stars have played the fewest divisional games of anyone in the Central this season with the team going 3-2 in those contests.

The Wild had their streak of nine-consecutive games with at least one point snapped with a 3-2 regulation loss to the Nashville Predators Saturday. Zach Parise has been on-fire after a slow start to the season with the winger notching four goals and six assists during a seven-game point streak.

Providence Perfect ATS Against UMass

Providence has been far from a safe bet this season with the Friars just 6-5 ATS, but a contest against UMass Monday could get them going in the right direction for bettors. The Friars are a perfect 5-0 ATS in their five games against the Minutemen in our database, which goes back to 1999.

Providence star guard, and reigning Big East player of the year, Kris Dunn has missed the past two games with a virus. The Friars have done just fine without Dunn with Ben Bentil specifically stepping up as the center has tallied 35 points and 20 rebounds across those two games.

Providence will have a difficult time guarding the third guard attack of UMass. The trio of Trey Davis, Donte Clark and Jabarie Hinds have combined for an average of 53 points per game so far this season.

USF Closed Out Season on Hot Streak

USF NCAA Football

South Florida started the season rather poorly with a 1-3 record through their first four games, but the Bulls have since gone 7-1 and have won their past four. USF has also enjoyed success at the betting window during their current winning streak, going 4-0 ATS in their past four games. The Bulls will meet the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers on December 21st in the Miami Beach Bowl.

Let’s just say what you have heard a million times by now—USF head coach Willie Taggert used to coach Western Kentucky.

USF quarterback Quinton Flowers has been a revelation for the Bulls with the sophomore accounting for 31 touchdowns and 2,906 offensive yards. In his past four games Flowers has thrown for 11 touchdowns, rushed for three and only has two turnovers.

Western Kentucky counters with one of the most prolific passers in college football in Brandon Doughty. The senior is second in the nation in passing yards (4,594) and first in touchdowns (45) and has thrown three or more touchdowns in 11-straight games.

MNF Preview: Lions at Saints Odds

The New Orleans Saints tend to fall apart when they’re expected to win as they are just 2-9-1 ATS in their past 12 games as the favorite. New Orleans will be the fave when they host the Detroit Lions Sunday.

The Saints defense bounced back last week after one of their worst performances of the season the week before as they held the Bucs to just 17 points and 291 offensive yards. Drew Brees has been phenomenal at home this season with a 71.5 completion percentage with 17 touchdowns and five interceptions.

The Lions are coming off a loss to the St. Louis Rams, which is far from good. Detroit has faltered on the road this season, going 1-5 SU, but have only lost by less than three points per game.

SNF Betting Preview: Cardinals at Eagles

Arizona Cardinals NFL

The Arizona Cardinals have clinched themselves a playoff spot, but with positioning still yet to be determined, you can expect them to go all out when they visit the Philadelphia Eagles Sunday. The Cards can take solace in the fact that they are 4-1 SU and 4-0-1 ATS in their past five games against Philly.

The Cardinals have won seven consecutive games with an average scoring margin of +9.2 points. Carson Palmer has been lighting it up during that span as he has thrown 17 touchdowns to eight different receivers while only throwing four interceptions.

The Eagles are coming off back-to-back wins for the first time since Week 7 as they have victories over the New England Patriots and Buffalo Bills in the past two weeks. Sam Bradford has surprisingly done very well at protecting the ball with just one interception in the past four games.
