NFL Week 7 Expert Betting Odds Picks

Cleveland has played three close, intense games the past three weeks, the last two being decided in overtime. This is the Browns' third road game in four weeks.

The Browns need to play hard since they lack talent at the skill positions. I don't see the Browns maintaining this kind of intense pace. So I'm going to lay 5.5 points with rested St. Louis and fade the Browns.

Nover: Ryan Brothers Overrated Coaches

Twin brothers Rex and Rob Ryan have two of the most colorful personalities in the NFL. They also could be the two most overrated coaches.

Rex Ryan failed to earn a playoff berth with the New York Jets during the last four years when he was head coach. The Jets sure look like a playoff contender this season under Todd Bowles. The Jets are 4-1 giving up the fewest points and yards per game in the league.

Rob Ryan may be the worst defensive coordinator in the league. His New Orleans Saints are surrendering the most yards per game in the NFL and the fifth-most points.

Lightning Seeking Revenge vs. Hawks

Chicago Blackhawks Andrew Shaw

Two teams that are very familiar with each other square off in NHL action Saturday evening when the Tampa Bay Lightning invade the United Centre for a Stanley Cup Final rematch against the Chicago Blackhawks. Chicago, who won the series in six games to hoist their third Cup in six seasons, will be seeking to continue its strong defensive effort that limited the Bolts to just 10 goals last June.

Shark Bites
  • The Blackhawks are 4-0-0 when scoring first so far this year.
  • Chicago defenseman Duncan Keith was recently ruled out for 4-6 weeks.
  • The UNDER is 7-0 in the last 7 meetings between the two clubs in Chicago.

Tampa Bay (5-2-1) is likely to give the reigns of the goaltending position to rookie Kristers Gudlevskis. Gudlevskis has one NHL game under his belt, a 3-2 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets on April 11, 2014.

Tampa has been solid on the road this season, going 3-1-1 against opponents away from home.

Can Price Exorcise Postseason Demons?

Blue Jays David Price

The Toronto Blue Jays seem to have taken a page out of the Kansas City Royals’ playbook and have refused to go down without a fight in their American League Championship Series matchup with Game 6 scheduled for Friday night in K.C. The Jays, who were in a big 3-1 hole after getting hammered 14-2 in Game 4, took Game 5 by a score of 7-1 thanks to a fantastic start by Marco Estrada.

Shark Bites
  • Price has allowed 13 runs this postseason, the same number from his last 7 regular season starts.
  • Kansas City’s Mike Moustakas has struggled so far, going 5-for-35 in the playoffs.
  • The Jays are 1-4 in their last 5 games at Kauffman Stadium.

It’s all on ace lefty David Price to force a win or go home Game 7 now, and you’ll have to excuse Bluebirds bettors if they feel a bit worried about that notion. Price has inexplicably never pitched well in the postseason, owning an ugly 0-7 career mark as a starter.

The 30-year-old has allowed 10 runs in 13 2/3 innings in his two starts so far in the 2015 playoffs. Countering on the bump for the Royals will be Yordano Ventura (0-1, 6.57 ERA in the postseason).

eSports: LoL Worlds Semifinals Preview

The big news in the week leading up to the Semifinals has been the removal of Gragas from the champion pool. Riot decided to remove the champion after a glitch was found in the quarterfinals match between Fnatic and EDG when Gragas was unable to use one of his abilities.

Gragas was one of the most used champions throughout the tournament with the character appearing in 29 of 38 games so far. Riot also removed Lux and Ziggs from the rotation, though neither champion has been used in the tournament.

Week 7 Odds - Panthers vs Eagles

The red-hot Carolina Panthers are a perfect 5-0 SU in the 2015 NFL campaign and will be looking to make it six straight W’s Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles. Carolina has also been one of the best bets in the NFL so far, covering in all but one game.

The Eagles, who are currently tied with the New York Giants at 3-3 SU in the weak NFC East, appear to be slowly gelling in the wake of an ugly first month of the season. Philly hasn’t been lighting it up at the betting window when it comes to covering the spread (3-3 ATS), but they have been a fantastic play for UNDER bettors. The UNDER is 5-1 in Philly’s opening six contests.

Panthers quarterback Cam Newton’s name has been thrown around in early MVP talks, and it’s far from a stretch. Newton has 11 total touchdowns (eight throwing and three running) while amassing 1,078 yards through the air and 225 rushing yards in 2015.

OVER is a Smart Bet for Ohio State

Ezekiel Elliott Ohio State Buckeyes

Ohio State’s high-octane offense has gotten used to topping totals with the OVER going 17-8 in their past 25 games. This season has seen the Buckeyes score 37.0 points per game and they have twice topped the 40-point plateau. Ohio State will visit Rutgers Saturday, with the Scarlet Knights coming off a massive win.

Though Ohio State looked impressive in their win over Penn State last week, the question still remains as to who will be the Buckeyes starting quarterback. Ohio State started Cardale Jones who went 9-for-15 with 84 yards, but J.T. Barrett completed all four of his passes for two touchdowns while rushing for 102 yards.

Rutgers is coming off one of the biggest comebacks of the season after scoring 28 unanswered points in the final two quarters to beat Indiana last week. There was no specific player that took over the game for the Scarlet Knights, as four different players contributed touchdowns in the huge comeback.

Worst vs First - FSU vs GT Week 8 Odds

Georgia Tech Football

Florida State has been a dominant team over the past several seasons, but that has caused inflated spreads which has helped Georgia Tech go a perfect 6-0 ATS in the last six meetings between the Seminoles and Yellow Jackets. Georgia Tech will host FSU Saturday with the hopes of not just winning ATS, but also SU.

Supporters of the Seminoles were uneasy heading into halftime with a 7-6 lead against Louisville last week, but those worries turned out to be unfounded. FSU scored 35 points in the second half to take a big win over the Cardinals. The Seminoles offense was carried by running back Dalvin Cook who rushed for 163 yards and two touchdowns despite injury concerns.

Georgia Tech has now dropped five consecutive games following last week’s loss to Pittsburgh, which ties the Yellow Jackets record for longest single-season losing skid.

Utah Continues to Cash on the Road

Utah Utes Quarterback Travis Wilson

There may be no other team quietly dominating the way Utah has so far this season, which could be a big reason why the Utes are 2-0 ATS on the road, which has brought their road ATS record to 8-1 in their past nine away from Rice-Eccles Stadium. Utah will look to continue their road dominance when they visit the faltering USC Trojans Saturday.
Utah remained the only undefeated team in the Pac-12 with a victory over Arizona State last week. Throughout his career with the Utes, quarterback Travis Wilson has dazzled fans with his play one week only to implode the next, but he has limited those mistakes this season with only two games in which he threw more interceptions than touchdowns.

Things have been a mess at USC over the past several weeks with the team firing coach Steve Sarkisian after his recent troubles with alcohol. Another loss was tallied last week when the Trojans gave up 17 points in the fourth quarter, due in large to quarterback Cody Kessler’s two interceptions in the final frame.

Hurricanes Hard to Beat at Home

Miami Hurricanes Quarterback Brad Kaaya

Home field advantage has meant a lot to the University of Miami Hurricanes with the U winning 16 of their past 19 games on home soil. So far this season, the Hurricanes are a perfect 3-0 at home and have outscored their opponents 111-53. Miami will need to use all of their home field advantage when they host undefeated Clemson Saturday.

Clemson continues to keep pace with Florida State atop the ACC with both teams being the only two remaining undefeated teams in the conference. After being largely underwhelming this year, Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson had a huge game against Boston College last week, throwing for 420 yards and three touchdowns.

Miami was looking to run out the clock when a defensive offside gave them a free play last week, and the Hurricanes jumped on the opportunity for the final touchdown that put the game out of reach for Virginia Tech. Despite the U losing two of their past three, quarterback Brad Kaaya has completed over 60 percent of his passes with five touchdowns and no interceptions in those games.
