LSU highlights college football line moves

Conference play is now in full swing as the college football betting season enters Week 5. The trend on this week’s biggest line movers seems to be taking the points in these rivalry games.

Many bettors pounded early underdogs, but will they be rewarded? Here’s a look at four of the nation’s biggest moves in Week 5:

Utah State @ BYU (from -12.5 to -7.5 at TopBet)

NBA Lockout Prop Bets Roundup

According to the oddsmakers at the sportsbooks it's now more likely that the NBA will cancel its 2011/12 season entirely than it is they'll end up playing games.

On the NBA props market at Bovada you can get a +125 price right now on the NBA cancelling the 2011/12 season, while the league playing a full 82-game schedule is set as the second-favorite on that list at +160 odds.

Red Sox Collapse Sparks 2012 Odds

The dual collapses in Boston and Atlanta Wednesday quickly spawned some new betting odds on the future of players and managers on those teams by Thursday.

In particular, how a manager named Terry Francona could survive a 9-game collapse in September, the biggest in baseball history.

Online sportsbook Bovada however listed the Red Sox skipper as -200 to survive and be in charge at the start of the 2012 season.

Panthers host Bulls Thursday Night

The South Florida Bulls will attempt to stay undefeated Thursday night when they play the Pittsburgh Panthers in Pittsburgh.

Pitt has lost two straight games, but are 3-0 both SU and ATS in their last three games against South Florida. South Florida quarterback B.J. Daniels has thrown only one interception this season, with eight touchdown passes.

The Bulls look to avenge a home loss last season against the Panthers, who see their best line at +3 today at Bovada.

Boxing Betting Odds: October Preview

The month of October will offer a few different options for boxing betting fans looking to pad their bankroll.

Sportsbooks will be offering action on at least 10 fights on October 1 and lines are already available on bouts later in the month.

NFL Injuries: Eagles line depends on Vick

For the second straight week Michael Vick’s status is being carefully watched by NFL bettors after he left the Eagles' loss to the New York Giants last Sunday with a hand injury.

Vick participated in practice Wednesday and is expected to start in Sunday’s game against San Francisco, prompting 5Dimes to release a line making Philadelphia a 10-point favorite in that one.

NHL Odds to Make Playoffs and Season Wins

It has happened only twice in the past 16 seasons, but it’s possible and the payout is a huge +550 ($550 profit on a $100 bet) if it happens in 2012.

That something is a Stanley Cup champion missing the playoffs the following season and Boston Bruins have been posted as +550 for that to happen in the 2011-2012 season.

The 1995 New Jersey Devils were champs and failed to make the playoffs the next year and the 2006 Carolina Hurricanes did the same thing. But is Boston, with a solid of young players, veteran anchors and solid goaltending even a risk?

Redskins visit winless Rams in Week 4 odds

Washington comes off a Monday night loss at Dallas heading out on the road again to face the winless Rams.

St. Louis tries to break its 2011 victory cherry Sunday as the Rams host the surprising Redskins, who many don't believe are as good as their 2-1 start might indicate.

The Rams have covered all four meetings since 2005 between these teams and they should be hungry at home with road games at Green Bay and Dallas looming in the next two weeks.

NASCAR Betting: AAA 400

Jimmie Johnson has some work to do in the Sprint Cup Series standings as the circuit takes on Dover International Speedway this weekend at the AAA 400.

Johnson, the five-time defending Sprint Cup champion, has slipped to 10th place in the driver standings after two Chase events, and he's down to 13/2 odds on the NASCAR betting board at Bovada to come up with his sixth title in a row.

NFL Betting: Week 4 Opening Lines

One of the biggest surprises early on in NFL betting is how wide open the AFC now appears to be. The Buffalo Bills are the conference’s only 3-0 team, with nine teams trailing close behind at 2-1.

Two of those 2-1 teams will meet for NBC’s Sunday Night Football when the Baltimore Ravens host the New York Jets. Baltimore is coming off of a blowout win over St. Louis last week, while New York had a disappointing loss to the Oakland Raiders.
