Colorado is one of only five states in the country where all six major types of betting are allowed in at least some capacity, including charitable, parimutuel, commercial, tribal, racetrack and lotteries. Limited casinos and other gaming venues like card rooms are legal if properly licensed through the state while off-track betting on horses and dogs through parimutuel wagering, social betting, charitable games, bingo and raffles are also permitted.

Betting in the state of Arizona is limited to tribal casinos, horse and dog racing – though not on the same day – and the state lottery. The Arizona Department of Gaming regulates the tribal casinos and works with the tribes, which are governed by the Arizona Tribal-State Gaming Compacts, to oversee them.

Until recently, Ohio offered very few options to its residents when it came to live betting. Fortunately for bettors in the state, recent laws have made casino gambling more accessible across the state, especially in the most largely populated areas.

New Jersey

New Jersey is without question one of the most progressive states in the United States when it comes to gambling. Home to the country's first race track and second only to Las Vegas in allowing casino gambling, the state of New Jersey has always been a pioneer in the gaming industry.

The state of Michigan has had casino gambling for nearly two decades now, making it one of the first states to pass laws to allow casinos in the United States. Poker players and casino gamers have multiple brick and mortar options throughout the state in which they can play table games and slot machines.

Help is on the way for bettors in the state of Massachusetts. While many of the state's residents have already found solace in online betting due to the state's relatively relaxed laws on betting, those that have been waiting for brick and mortar options will soon have two brand new casinos in the state.
