NHL Midweek Betting Lines

Somebody has to be labeled as the favorite in sporting events, but in the NHL the parity is so great that underdog victories are a regular occurrence these days.

Tuesday night has a half-dozen games with plenty of interesting lines. Toronto is a -165 favorite as they tangle with the Florida Panthers at the Air Canada Centre - in a battle of teams going in opposite directions. Toronto has scored just four goals over three straight losses since opening the season on a four-game winning streak.

Week 18 CFL Odds Preview

With only two games left in the CFL regular season the playoff teams are pretty much set and I say pretty much, as Winnipeg has to win their last two games and Edmonton and British Columbia will have to lose their last two games for the Blue Bombers to make the post-season. In last week’s game Hamilton crushed Montreal 40-3, BC kept their playoff hopes alive with a tough away win over Calgary, Toronto beat Winnipeg 27-8, and Edmonton beat Saskatchewan 39-24.

Monday Night Giants Cowboys Odds

There is a lot of action on Dallas to cover the Monday Night Football point spread tonight as they host the New York Giants.

New York may have won its last three games, but they failed bettors last week. The Giants were a 10-point favorite versus the Lions, but couldn't cover the spread in a 28-20 victory. That dropped the Giants to 3-3 ATS on the season as they prepare to take on the desperate Cowboys on the road.

Underdogs Win Again in Week 7 NFL

After barking loudly for three straight weeks, underdogs took a week off from yapping last week, going only 6-7-1 ATS.

But while bettors may have taken that as a sign that favorites were getting their groove back, underdogs showed us Sunday that they still plan to make lots of noise, going 8-5 ATS.

NBA Season Betting Preview

2010-11 may be the NBA’s most anticipated season in years, and every NBA betting fan knows why: the Miami Heat.

The Big Three of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh will try to take the Heat to glory, and oddsmakers believe it will happen.

At virtually every major sportsbook the Heat is favored to win the NBA championship; typical NBA odds place them at +165. They’re massive favorites to win the Eastern Conference, listed at -155.

College Football Upsets Continue

Oregon ascended to the top spot in college football rankings, which means it should be safe to bet USC to beat them Saturday.

In Week 8 of NCAA football betting, Oklahoma was No. 1 in the BCS standings and closed as a 3-point road favorite over Missouri. However, for the third straight week, the country’s No. 1 team lost. First it was Alabama against South Carolina, then Ohio State at Wisconsin and then, on Saturday, the Sooners.

NFL Week 7 Odds Sunday

The last time Minnesota won on the road was when they visited Green Bay late last season, making their ATS run in 10 seasons at Lambeau 8-2.

Brett Favre led the Vikings to a 38-26 win as 3.5-point favorites in that contest, and it was the Vikings' third win in a row versus the Packers. If they can make it four on Sunday they'll do it as a 2.5-point underdog and snap their six-game road losing streak.

Packers vs Vikings NFL Week 7 Props

Will the grizzled veteran or his former student prevail this weekend when Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers clash in an NFL props battle?

In case you somehow missed it, the Vikings and Packers meet up this weekend at Lambeau Field. Not only does that mean another trip back to his old stomping grounds for Favre, but it also means another showdown between Favre and his Packers replacement, Rodgers. That naturally means some Rodgers Favre odds.

NLCS Game 6 Betting Preview

Two weeks ago, the biggest World Series matchup on the baseball odds board was the Giants vs Rangers.

Tonight, San Francisco can make it happen and reward league championship futures bettors who got that matchups at 50/1 odds. Texas beat the Yankees, now the Giants try to upset the Phillies.

Lesnar Best Bet in UFC 121

If you want to take advantage of the best line you’re likely to see on the UFC Heavyweight champion for the next couple of years, get in on the -160 UFC 121 odds being offered on Brock Lesnar (5-1) against Cain Velasquez (8-0) this Saturday night.

As we periodically see, the hype around a UFC championship fight is bigger than it should be, and the lines are a bit skewed because of that fact.
