Can Blue Jays Touch Unhittable Sale?

Chris Sale continues to prove that he is one of the best pitchers in baseball, as the leftie has given up just four hits and one unearned run in his past two starts (16.0 innings). Sale will take to the mound for the Chicago White Sox when they take on the Toronto Blue Jays Tuesday, a team that Sale has posted a career 2.57 ERA against.

The Jays will counter Sale with R.A. Dickey, with the knuckballer comes off his longest outing of the season on Wednesday. Dickey has a 6.10 ERA through his first four starts and has only pitched through six complete innings once. That’s not a good sign for a team whose bullpen has a collective 3.70 ERA and five losses to their names.

The White Sox enter Tuesday as winners of six of their past seven outings, while holding their opponents to just 2.4 runs per game in that span. In Sale’s four starts this season, the White Sox are 4-0 and have outscored their opponents 14-7.

Best Overall Vegas Sportsbooks

Betting sports in Las Vegas is an experience in itself. But being able to enjoy watching sports in comfortable surroundings with the added bonus of eating great food while still having easy access to betting at a nearby sportsbook is what really sets Vegas apart. There are many places up and down and on and off the Strip that do a couple of these things well. However, very few do all three well enough to be mentioned in this article.

MLB Focus: Don’t Sweat Astros’ Slow Start

Carlos Gomez Astros

After underperforming out of the gate, the 6-13 Houston Astros are the most disappointing team in the still fresh MLB season. Currently dead last in the American League West, many, including myself, picked the young Astros to be the class of their division and a serious threat to represent the AL in the World Series, but they’ve already seen their World Series odds dip from +1600 to +2000.

Even with the third worst record in the bigs so far, it’s too soon to overreact to the sluggish start as Houston should still be considered among the elite in the American League.

Win Total Set For Pats Without Brady

It appears that the New England Patriots will be in the rare place of starting their NFL season without Tom Brady at the helm. Brady has started each of the Patriots past 14 regular season openers, but with his deflategate suspension upheld by the U.S. Appeals Court, the Pats will likely be turning to Jimmy Garoppolo when they visit the Arizona Cardinals in Week 1.

PGA: Zurich Classic of New Orleans Odds

Justin Rose PGA

As the 2016 PGA Tour season marches on, a stop in the Bayou State is up next with the 2016 edition of the Zurich Classic of New Orleans set to get underway on Thursday. When it comes to odds lists, a familiar face is out in front.

World No. 1 Jason Day is currently a +500 favorite at Bovada, while Justin Rose (+800), Rickie Fowler (+1100), Billy Horschel (+1800) and Charlie Hoffman (+1800) are right on his heels.

NBA Playoffs: Exact Series Outcome Odds

JJ Redick Los Angeles Clippers

Let’s face it: futures bets can sometimes be a drag. Sure, I can place a bet on my Green Bay Packers to win Super Bowl LI (which is a lock, by the way) before the NFL season starts but now my money is going to be tied up until February. When it comes to the NBA playoffs, however, there’s a different type of option available with a not so distant payoff: exact series outcome betting.

2016 Russian Grand Prix Odds

Nico Rosberg Mercedes Russian Grand Prix Formula 1

Nobody is surprised that Mercedes has come out and won three-straight races to open the Formula 1 season. It may come as somewhat of a shock that it is Nico Rosberg and not Lewis Hamilton that has crossed the finish line first as the German has been in dominant form early in the season.

Blazers Seeking to Even Series With Clips

Blake Griffin Damian Lillard

It took two games for the Portland Trail Blazers to find their groove, but the bunch from Rip City lit it up in a 96-88 home win over the Los Angeles Clippers in Game 3. Game 4, which takes place on Monday, will give the Blazers an opportunity to even up the series after the Clips took Games 1 and 2.

Shark Bites
  • The Trail Blazers are 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games after an ATS win.
  • The Clippers are 5-0 SU and ATS in their last five games with one day off between games.
  • The Trail Blazers are 1-3 SU and 0-4 ATS in their last four games after a win.

Home court advantage continues to be huge in this series, as visiting clubs are 0-4 SU in the last four meetings between the squads. Damian Lillard was cold in the first two affairs but put up 27 points while making 11 of 22 from the field in Game 3, while backcourt mate CJ McCollum totalled 27 points on 11-of-22 shooting in the victory.

Don’t fault Chris Paul for the loss, though. The Clippers point guard has averaged 26.3 points, 8.3 assists and five rebounds in the series.

Oddsmakers opened the total for the matchup at 206.5, a number that will greatly appeal to UNDER bettors. The UNDER is 9-1 in the Clippers’ last 10 with a closing total of 206.5 or more.

Heat are Excellent at Bouncing Back

After a pair of blowout losses, the Charlotte Hornets bounced back in a big way in Game 3 of their Eastern Conference first-round series with the Miami Heat. Charlotte stormed back on Saturday, topping Miami 96-80 thanks to a strong performance from rookie Frank Kaminsky. Game 4 goes tonight in Charlotte.

Shark Bites
  • The Hornets are 2-5 ATS in their last seven games as home favorites.
  • The Heat are 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games as an underdog of 3.0 or less.
  • The Hornets are 8-1 SU in their last nine games as favorites.

Miami has been a fantastic bounce back bet, however. The Heat are 9-0 SU in their last nine coming off a loss. The Heat, who opened as 2.5-point underdogs, are also 10-4 ATS in their previous 14 when tabbed as dogs of 3 points or less.

While the Hornets walked away with the W in Game 3, they’ll need to improve their shooting if they wish to have a fighting chance for the rest of the series. Charlotte shot only 38.9 percent from the field in the contest but were sharp in basically every other facet of the game, going 21-for-22 from the foul line while committing only four turnovers. Miami shot 19-for-30 from the charity stripe and turned the ball over 15 times.

Miami big man Hassan Whiteside sat out of Sunday’s practice with a bruised right thing but the center has stated he’s receiving treatment and does not expect to miss Game 4.

Cardinals Dominating The Diamondbacks

The St. Louis Cardinals have been making easy work of the Arizona Diamondbacks when the two clubs meet, as the Cards have won each of the past eight meetings. The Cardinals have outscored the D-Backs 36-17 in those outings with Arizona failing to score three or more runs in four of those games.

The Diamondbacks will look to reverse that trend when they send ace Zack Greinke to the mound Monday. Greinke struggled to start the season, but has started to steady himself recently, with the right-hander allowing just three earned runs in his past two outings combined.

The Cards will send Jaime Garcia, who has a perfect career record against the D-Backs, to the bump Monday. Garcia is 5-0 with a 2.51 ERA in five career starts against the D-Backs, with two of those victories coming last season.
