Kentucky Derby Betting Value

The 137th running of the Kentucky Derby is upon us, and this crew of 20 three-year-olds appears as evenly matched as we have seen once we get past the two likely betting favorites, Dialed In and Uncle Mo.

So how can the recreational horse bettor make some money on Saturday while watching horse racing's marquee event?

MLB Betting: Indians vs. Angels

The Indians and Angels have gone UNDER the total in their last 10 matchups. Will that streak continue tonight when they meet up in the opener of a three-game series in Los Angeles?

The Indians will send Justin Masterson (5-0, 2.25) to the mound tonight, while the Angels will go with rookie Tyler Chatwood (2-1, 4.94). Masterson earned a no decision last time out after allowing three runs on seven hits over seven innings versus Detroit. Chatwood was roughed up for five runs on nine hits in four innings in a no decision against Tampa Bay in his last start.

NBA Playoff Betting: Dallas Hosts LA

The Dallas Mavericks hold a 2-0 series lead heading home tonight for Game 3 of their second round playoff series with the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Mavericks were a 6-point road underdog in Game 2 but upset the Lakers 93-81. Dirk Nowitzki led the Mavericks with 24 points, while Kobe Bryant scored 23 points for Los Angeles.

Bellator 43 Fight Card Preview

The Bellator Fighting Championships will wrap up their Season Four Welterweight tournament this weekend at Bellator 43 in Newkirk, Oklahoma.

Jay Hieron will be the favorite to earn a shot at Ben Askren’s Bellator Welterweight title some time later in the year, but he first has to get past the undefeated Rick Hawn.

Sharks, Wings NHL playoff betting

San Jose has been on the better end of three one-goal games and can close out the Red Wings and advance to the Western Conference final with a win Friday night in NHL playoff betting action.

Sports Interaction has the Red Wings as -130 home favorites for Game 4 at Joe Louis Arena, with the OVER/UNDER total set at 5.5.

NBA Betting: Lakers, Celtics in trouble

After lackluster efforts in back-to-back upset losses to start the series, the Los Angeles Lakers face a must-win situation on Friday night as they travel to Dallas to take on the Mavericks in Game 3 of their Western Conference semifinal.

NFL Draft Review: Odds and Props

Did you expect the drafting of Cam Newton to move the Carolina Panthers up the NFL futures list? The Panthers did see a change, hitting 100/1 on the Super Bowl futures, up from 125/1 at Bovada, but they still have the same lackluster team that went 2-14 a year ago around Newton. Betting on the Panthers to win anything next year seems like a waste of time, especially if some experts are still wondering if Newton will be the next Matt Ryan or the next JaMarcus Russell.

MLB Odds: Nationals vs. Phillies

The Philadelphia Phillies look to complete a sweep of the Washington Nationals tonight when they conclude a three-game series in Philly.

John Lannan (2-3, 3.78) gets the start for Washington tonight against Philadelphia ace Roy Halladay (4-1, 2.14). Lannan allowed two runs on six hits over 6 2-3 innings in a loss against San Francisco last time out, while Halladay is coming off a complete game versus the Mets in which he allowed one run on seven hits while striking out eight.

Kentucky Derby Betting Preview

Early odds on the 137th Running of the Roses are posted, and as expected Dialed In is the current favorite to win the 2011 Kentucky Derby.

Currently at 3/1 to win at Bovada, he could drop to 2/1 or lower by post time once the general public bets heavily on the favorite. Dialed In has a win in his maiden special race at Churchill Downs as well as wins in both Grade 1 stakes races he’s run.

MLB Odds: Angels vs. Red Sox

Torii Hunter leads the Los Angeles into Fenway Park tonight as the Angels take on the Boston Red Sox in the second game of a four-game series.

Ervin Santana (1-3, 4.89) is scheduled to start for the Angels tonight, while Josh Beckett (2-1, 2.65) will get the call for Boston. Santana picked up a win over Tampa Bay in his last start after allowing four runs on four hits in six innings. Beckett is coming off a no decision versus Baltimore in which he allowed four runs on seven hits in six innings.
