Lester takes mound for the Red Sox

Lefthander Jon Lester is expected to get the ball for the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday night as they continue their four-game MLB betting series at Fenway Park against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Lester is 8-6 with a 4.58 ERA on the season, and he's 11-9 with a 4.36 ERA over his 25 career starts against Tampa Bay. The lefthander last faced the Rays back on June 11, giving up seven runs on eight hits over 4 2-3 innings of work in that contest.

Ohio State Odds: Carlos Hyde news

Ohio State began the week as the clear-cut favorite in the Big Ten and the second choice to win the BCS National Championship behind only Alabama. However, that was before top RB Carlos Hyde was reportedly dismissed from the team and starting CB Bradley Roby was arrested. 
Hyde was named as a person of interest in an incident involving a weekend assault on a woman at a Columbus dance club. He was suspended from all football activities after a Monday team meeting, according to multiple media reports.

Nats open four-game set vs. Pirates

The Washington Nationals will continue their homestand on Monday night as they open up a four-game MLB betting series at Nationals Park against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The Nats are expected to send Dan Haren to the mound on Monday, and he's just 4-10 on the season with a 5.61 ERA. Washington is 0-10 in the righthander's last 10 trips to the mound, and only 4-13 overall when he pitches this season.

Pittsburgh puts its faith in starter Charlie Morton to earn a win and boost his personal mark of 1-2.

The Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees will close out their three-game MLB betting series at Fenway Park on Sunday night, with CC Sabathia taking the mound for New York.

Sabathia is 9-8 with a 4.07 ERA so far this season, and he's 9-10 with a 4.19 ERA over his 24 career starts against the Red Sox. The lefthander gave up just one run on six hits over 7 1-3 innings against Boston when he last faced them on May 31.

The Yankees will face Ryan Dempster for the Red Sox; he's 5-8 to date on the season.

Rangers continue set against Orioles

The Texas Rangers will continue their home MLB betting series against the Baltimore Orioles on Saturday night, with the O's expected to send Miguel Gonzalez to the mound in the contest.

Gonzalez is 7-3 with a 3.48 ERA on the season, and he held the Rangers to just one run on four hits over 6 2-3 innings of work when he faced them on July 11. The righthander is 1-1 with a 3.86 ERA over his two career starts against Texas.

The Rangers, meanwhile, will counter with Ross Wolf, who will be looking to improve on his 1-1 mark.

Yankees open MLB series at Fenway Park

Andy Pettitte will get the ball for the New York Yankees on Friday night as they open up a three-game MLB betting series against the rival Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park.

Pettitte heads into Friday's outing with a 7-6 record and a 4.39 ERA on the season, and he beat the Red Sox back on April 4 by allowing just one run in eight innings of work. The lefthander is 19-10 with a 3.82 ERA in his career vs. Boston.

For the Red Sox, Felix Doubront gets the ball, charged with keeping the Yankees hitters off the base paths.
