Favorites Finally Flourish in Week 6 NFL

Hey look, a pig just flew by! Apparently pigs can fly, because a Sunday of NFL football action actually saw some favorites win and cover the spread for a change this weekend.

Favorites went 6-6-1 ATS and 10-3 SU, with the New York Giants -10.0, Houston -4.5, and Indianapolis -3.5 being the three favorites to win but fail to cover this Sunday. Underdogs had been on a 29-15 ATS run over the last three weeks, but their loud howling was finally cut back to a manageable bark this week.

Week 6 NFL Betting Odds Preview

Big Ben Roethlisberger makes his season debut this weekend as the Pittsburgh Steelers host the Cleveland Browns as Week 6's biggest favorite on the NFL betting lines.

With Roethlisberger returning from his four-game suspension, the Steelers' passing game should see immediate improvement and no longer be the worst-ranked attack in the NFL. In Big Ben's return, the Steelers are huge 13.5-point favorites.

Big Ben Prop Odds Headline Week 6 NFL

Ben Roethlisberger returns for the Steelers in Week 6, and NFL props bettors will get the chance to make some cash on his season debut against the Browns.

With Big Ben sidelined the Steelers were a run-first team, which is evident by the fact they are dead last in the league in passing yards. This will definitely change with Roethlisberger taking over from Charlie Batch, but will the Steelers immediately start going to the air a lot more?

Big Ten College Football Betting

After the Wolverines fell to Michigan State last week, oddsmakers seemingly lost confidence in them with most sportsbooks installing them as 3-point home underdogs to Big Ten rival Iowa.

It's one of several key matches where Big Ten betting odds are the focus of college football betting attention in Week 7.

NLCS Odds: Phillies Favored Over Giants

Oddsmakers believe the performance of Roy Halladay, who just tossed the second-ever no-hitter in postseason play, makes it easy to list Philadelphia as -170 favorites in the opener of the NLCS.

And at shops such as Bodog, the prospects of the Giants pulling a series upset are so slim they have the Phillies at -250 favorites.

NHL Hockey Betting Previews

The previously sad-sack Toronto Maple Leafs are perfect through their first three games this season, but does that mean it's time to start laying down some of your cash on them when NHL betting comes to the fore?

Despite sitting at 3-0 the Maple Leafs will be a +120 underdog when they take to the ice against the Rangers in New York on Friday. The Rangers have been lighting the lamp so far this season with 10 goals in two games, and they will be the -140 favorite to end the Leafs' dream start.

NFL Weather Report: Windy Foxboro

New England comes off a bye week facing the Ravens and possibly facing windy conditions at home, as part of the NFL betting weather report for Week 6.

The Patriots will be the slight 2.5-point favorite against the Baltimore Ravens this weekend. Forecasts are calling for breezy conditions that could produce winds in excess of 20 mph. It potentially disrupts the passing game on both sides and could contribute to both teams running the ball more than they normally would.

South Florida vs. West Virginia Odds

When you think powerhouse college football teams, West Virginia comes more quickly to mind than South Florida.

But don't tell that to the Bulls, who have beaten the Mountaineers in three of four matchups and covered the spread all four times. SFU will try to make it five in this week’s Thursday nighter in college football betting.

ALCS Opening Odds and Preview

ALCS odds reflect the Yankees position in this series of David versus Goliath, but the Texas Rangers are a dangerous underdog with home-field advantage, making them a serious David threat.

New York boasts a powerful combination of hitting and pitching, and this is why sportsbooks have the Rangers vs Yankees odds set at -145 in Game 1 of the series.

NHL Betting Preview and Odds

Tampa Bay will be a slight underdog when the Lightning fly into Philadelphia on Thursday night to face the Flyers.

Playing on no rest, this could be a spot to bet the home team, which traded one of its best players - Simon Gagne - to Tampa in the offseason.
