Florida Struggling To Cover on the Road

The Florida Gators have looked fairly good so far this season with their only two losses coming against ranked teams, but a disturbing trend has continued from last season. Florida is just 3-8-1 ATS in their past 12 road games. The Gators will try to fix their losing ways against ranked teams when they visit the top ranked Michigan State Spartans Saturday.

Growing pains were expected for Florida this season under first-year coach Mike White, but the offense has been hard to watch so far this year. The Gators are averaging just 74.3 points on just 42 percent shooting.

Opening the year 10-0 with an average scoring margin of plus-24.7 points has removed any doubts anyone could have about the Spartans.  Michigan State also has, arguably, the best player in the nation in Denzel Valentine. The senior is averaging 18.8 points, 8.9 rebounds and 7.7 assists so far this season.

Xavier Not Just Winning on the Court

Xavier has yet to register a loss on the court this season and they have been almost as good at the betting window with the Musketeers covering in their past five games. Xavier will look to remain undefeated when they play host to the Cincinnati Bearcats Saturday.

The Xavier offense has been performing well all season long, as they have averaged 83.2 points per game on the year, but they have been staggeringly good in their past three games. The Musketeers have scored 90, 95 and 90 points in their past three games respectively. Xavier has six players averaging double-digit points this season with Trevon Bluiett, Jalen Reynolds and James Farr all averaging more than 6.5 rebounds as well.

Cincinnati has been dominate defensively this season as they have held opponents to just 58.4 points on 36.1 percent shooting this season. Both Octavius Ellies and Gary Clark have both averaged more than 9.8 points and 7.5 rebounds per game on the season so far.

The Wild Are A Red-Hot UNDER Play

The Minnesota Wild have been putting smiles on total bettors faces this holiday season, with the team posting an OVER/UNDER record of 1-7-1 in their last nine including five consecutive UNDERS heading into Saturday night. We will see if Minny can keep the trend of low scoring affairs going when they visit the San Jose Sharks Saturday.

The Wild’s offense, which has not been especially powerful this season, has struggled recently as they have averaged a mere two goals per game in their last nine outing. Much of those struggles can be attributed to a slumping powerplay, which has scored just one goal in the past 20 opportunities.

San Jose has yet to register a win in the month of December as they have gone 0-5 while being outscored 18-9. With the offense stagnant the Sharks recalled Ryan Carpenter from the AHL, who leads the San Jose Barracudas with 18 points and a plus-12 rating.

Offense Rare When Senators, Habs Meet

Goals have been at a premium when the Ottawa Senators and Montreal Canadiens have clashed, with the UNDER hitting in five of the past six games between the two teams. The Sens and Habs have averaged a combined 3.17 goals per game in their past six against one another.

Jean-Gabriel Pageau has relished in the spotlight of this Atlantic Division rivalry this season as the Ottawa native has tallied two goals in two games against Montreal. The Senators will need to try and find some consistency on the road moving forward as they have only recorded two consecutive road wins once since the start of November.

The Canadiens are in the midst of a four-game losing skid, their longest since they lost four straight in January of 2014. The Habs are just 1-4-1 in their past six games and have not scored more than two goals in that span.

NBA: Hawks Easily Going UNDER Lately

The Atlanta Hawks have gone under in five consecutive games thanks to some largely inflated totals. In Atlanta’s past five games the closing total has been nearly 206 on average, while the Hawks and their opponents are combining for just 193.8 points per game. The Hawks host the San Antonio Spurs Saturday, in a game that seems destined to close with a low total.

The Hawks have been much better at home this season as they have posted an 8-4 SU record at Philips Arena despite going just 6-6 ATS. In four games in the month of December, Paul Millsap continues to show he is the first look for the multi-faceted Hawks as he has averaged 14 points and nine rebounds this month.

After a slow start with his new team, LaMarcus Aldridge is starting to find his place on the Spurs. The big man has averaged 19.6 points on 55.4 percent of shooting with 7.8 rebounds in the past five games.

Army-Navy Game Betting Odds Preview

Navy Football

Navy will attempt to make it 13 SU wins in a row vs Army in the annual Army-Navy game in Philadelphia this Saturday. The #21 ranked Midshipmen opened as heavy favorites but are just 2-4 ATS in their last six games vs Army.

Navy is led by Keenan Reynolds who’s expected to receive Heisman consideration after leading the team’s triple option offense to a 9-2 SU record. The senior quarterback rushed for 1093 yards and 19 touchdowns this season.

Navy has been on the right end of plenty of blowouts this season, winning their nine games by an average of 23.55 points. The Black Knights managed to keep some games close, but their nine losses have come by an average of 10.44 points.

Of note for those analyzing the OVER/UNDER which opened at 53, this matchup has gone UNDER in five straight games.

In the 85 game history of the Army-Navy game, Navy leads the series 43-38-4.

UFC: Rousey vs Holm Rematch Odds

The sports world was shocked when MMA’s most dominant fighter, Ronda Rousey, was dethroned by Holly Holm. Not only did Holm do the unthinkable by beating the previously undefeated Rousey, but she delivered one of the most one sided beatdowns in recent history. Rousey’s aggressive style backfired which allowed Holm to completely pick her apart for six minutes.

NFL Week 14 Expert Betting Odds Picks

Just 26 points were scored when Cincinnati defeated Pittsburgh, 16-10, in Week 5. Look for far more points to be scored in Sunday's rematch. I like the total to go OVER 49 points.

Ben Roethlisberger had just come back from missing four games with a knee injury when the Bengals defeated the Steelers. Roethlisberger is healthy now and has thrown 10 touchdown passes in his last four games while averaging 383.2 yards passing during this span.

Nover: Cardinals, Panthers & Bucs Notes

Admit it. You laid the points with Arizona against Minnesota on Thursday night. How could you not?

The Vikings had just lost by 31 points to Seattle at home, had three key defensive injuries and were playing an elite opponent on the road in a short week.

The Cardinals were steamed up from being seven-point opening line favorites all the way to 10.5, closing a consensus minus 10. One well known Internet bet shop even got as high as Arizona minus 11.5.
