Slovaks Offer Good Value vs Russia

In Group B action, Russia (0-1-0) takes on a Slovakian team (0-0-1) at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy. The history between the Russian and Slovakian national teams is anything but storied, as these two squads have played only 8 matches with Russia slightly edging the all-time series 3-3-2.

Bolivia in Tough Against Argentina

Bolivia has their work cut out for them against Argentina, the -125 tournament favorites, in their final match of group play at the Copa America. Lionel Messi, who has three goals in Argentina’s two Copa 2016 matches, has unsurprisingly had his way with the competition so far and is -200 to finish the tournament as the highest goal scorer.

Tillman Could Burn Bo Sox at Fenway

Boston (Price) and Baltimore (Tillman) will kick off a series tonight in a matchup between two of the best offenses in baseball who have been OVER machines this year, posting a combined 65-53-8 OVER/UNDER for the season.

The Orioles are 9-1 SU in their last 10 games with Chris Tillman as their starter.
Baltimore is 6-1 O/U in their last 7 road games and Boston is 11-3-1 O/U in their last 15 home games.

The Orioles are 8-3 SU in their last 11 games as underdogs against the Red Sox.

Chris Tillman will go into Fenway looking to cool the Red Sox bats and has a good opportunity to do so. In his last 13 games as a starter against the Bo Sox, Tillman has posted a stellar 2.83 ERA and an 8-2 record.

Boston’s “Ace”, David Price, has looked like a pitcher on the decline this year, and got touched up for five runs in his lone start against the O’s this season. Price has also struggled at Fenway, posting a 5.61 ERA in 7 starts at home.

The numbers seem to hint that the Orioles are laying good value in this one as moneyline underdogs – but with an offense like the Red Sox have, that could change very quickly.

Red-Hot Nationals Set Sights on Cubs

The Chicago Cubs are unquestionably the best team in Major League Baseball, but they’ll have to tangle with a squad that’s equally as hot as them on Tuesday. The Nationals, who claimed a 4-1 victory over the Cubbies on Monday, have won four-straight and 11 of their last 14 tilts.

Shark Bites
  • The total has gone UNDER in 12 of the Cubs' last 17 games.
  • The Cubs are 5-0 SU in their last five games as favorites against the Nationals.
  • The Cubs are 9-2 SU in their last 11 games on the road after a loss on the road.

John Lackey and Gio Gonzalez are slated to get the ball for the Cubs and Nats, respectively. Lackey (7-2, 2.63 ERA) has notched eight-straight quality starts and has emerged triumphant in his last three. The 37-year-old has thrown 13.5 scoreless innings with 17 strikeouts in his two June starts.

Gonzalez has lost four consecutive outings, but he did have a solid day in his last start against the White Sox. The 30-year-old struck out 10 and allowed three runs over seven innings in that tilt, but the Nats weren’t able to help him out at the plate.

When tabbed as favorites against the Nationals, the Cubs are cashing for UNDER bettors. The UNDER is 5-1 in Chicago's last six against the Nationals when books list the Cubbies as faves.

Brew Crew Can’t Get It Done In San Fran

The Milwaukee Brewers have not been overly great the past few seasons, but they have been terrible when they travel to the Bay Area and take on the San Francisco Giants. The Brewers are 1-7 in their past eight games at AT&T Park while allowing 8.1 runs per game in those outings. The Brew Crew and the Giants continue their series Tuesday after San Fran put up 11 runs on Monday.

shark bites
  • The Brewers are 2-11 in their past 13 games against the Giants.
  • The OVER is 9-1 in the Giants’ past 10 games when moneyline favorites of -275 or higher.
  • The Brewers are 5-1 in their past six games on a Tuesday.

Giants’ ace Madison Bumgarner takes to the mound against a mediocre Brewers’ offense. Over the course of his past eight starts, MadBum has allowed just six earned runs while striking out 61 with opponents hitting .180. To make matters worse for the Brew Crew, Bumgarner has a 2.25 ERA in nine career starts against Milwaukee.

Matt Garza is set to make his season debut for the Brewers after opening the season on the 60 day DL. However, Garza has not been all that great in his rehab starts, as the righty posted a 4.76 ERA in three starts in Triple-A.

Home Team Dominant Between DET, CWS

Home field advantage has been critical when the Detroit Tigers and Chicago White Sox meet. The home team has won eight of the past nine contests between the AL Central rivals – including a perfect 4-0 mark this season.

shark bites
  • The Tigers are 6-14 in their past 20 games on the road.
  • Todd Frazier is 2-for-24 with 10 strikeouts in the past six games.
  • The OVER is 7-3 in the White Sox past 10 games with a closing total of 9.0 or higher.

Jordan Zimmermann takes to the bump coming off one of his worst starts of the season. Zimmermann allowed seven runs and eight hit in that outing, but the biggest issue was his six hits surrendered on two-strike counts. Though rare, Zimmermann has owned the White Sox in his career with a 2-0 record and a 1.83 ERA in three starts.

Miguel Gonzalez has done a great job at solidifying the backend of the White Sox’ rotation, as the late Spring Training signing has allowed two or fewer runs in five of his seven starts this season. Gonzalez has allowed just two earned runs across 12.1 innings in the month of June.

Iceland Makes Euro Debut VS Portugal

Cristiano Ronaldo Portugal Gylfi Sigurdsson Iceland Euro 2016

Iceland was a great story during Euro 2016 qualifying, finishing as the runner-up in a highly-competitive Group A which was won by the Czech Republic. The performance placed Iceland ahead of both Turkey and the Netherlands en route to its first ever European Championship. That said, Iceland faces Portugal on a bit of a cold streak in the the friendlies that they played leading up to the tournament.

Defense to be Key in Austria vs Hungary

Austria vs Hungary Euro

In a matchup that will have a heavy hand in deciding who moves on from, what is objectively, one of the weakest groups in the 2016 Euros, Hungary takes on an Austrian team that was unbeaten in qualifying. The two squads haven’t met in Euro competition since 1975 and will faceoff Wednesday for the first time since 2006 at the Nouveau Stade Bordeaux.

PHI Becoming Hottest OVER Team In MLB

The Philadelphia Phillies spent the first couple months of the season teasing their fan base with the idea that they could be competitive, but that quickly evaporated since the calendar flipped to June. The Phillies have gone 3-8 through their first 11 games in the month of June, but have managed to become more than just fade material in that span.

The OVER is 9-2 in the Phillies' 11 games in the month of June as of this writing. No team in the MLB has been a more consistent OVER play during that span, but it’s not in the most pleasant of ways for the Philly fanatics.
