Stoke Makes For a Good Value Play vs Man City

Manchester City heads to Stoke this weekend and looks to remain unbeaten in the early stages of the Premier League season. Stoke is known as one of the toughest places to play in England’s top flight as it has the reputation of hosting some of the worst weather in the country.

Arsenal is Unbeaten vs Leicester in 10 Straight Matches

This match was included in my best bets of Matchday two video as I am playing a both teams to score (BTTS) parlay with the Arsenal and Leicester City BTTS making up the first half. This is probably the best match on the docket this weekend and it could see a boatload of goals with both back lines looking leaky in their respective first fixtures.

Sweden to Earn First Ever Women's Soccer Medal Today

Sweden is just one step away from completing the Cinderella story despite Hope Solo’s bold prediction that their style of play would not get them far in this tournament. They will face Germany in the gold medal match and will earn Sweden’s first Olympic soccer medal since the men earned bronze in 1952.

Rio 2016: Australia vs. Serbia Men's Basketball Semifinal Preview

Not many people gave Australia and Serbia much of a shot to medal in the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics, but both teams have played above and beyond those pre-tournament expectations so far. A trip to the gold medal game is on the line Friday when the nations battle it out at Carioca Arena.

Rio 2016: Men's Basketball Odds

And then there were four.

The 2016 Rio de Janeiro Summer Olympics have given sports fans plenty of reasons to cheer, but one of the highlights is still hanging in the balance. Men’s basketball is down to just four teams, with the United States, Australia, Spain and Serbia remaining to fight it out for international hoops glory.

UNDERs Aplenty When Blue Jays and Indians Meet

A pair of American League division leaders will clash in Friday’s MLB action when the Toronto Blue Jays invade Progressive Field for a date with the Cleveland Indians.

Shark Bites
  • The total has gone UNDER in four of the Indians' last five games with Trevor Bauer as the starting pitcher.
  • The Indians are 7-2 SU in their last nine games at home.
  • The Blue Jays are 4-1 SU and ATS in their last five games against teams with winning records.

Francisco Liriano and Trevor Bauer will get the ball for the Jays and Tribe, respectively. Liriano (6-12, 5.46 ERA) struggled in his second outing since being acquired by the Blue Jays, giving up five runs and eight hits over 5 2/3 innings in a setback to Houston. The veteran is 5-6 with a 3.81 ERA in his career against the Indians.

Bauer (9-5, 3.97) is coming off back-to-back wins in his last two starts. The 25-year-old is 3-3 with a 4.91 ERA at home this season.

UNDER bettors love seeing these teams on the diamond. In the last seven matchups between Toronto and Cleveland, the UNDER is 5-2. The total for tonight's game opened at 9.5.

Cueto is Winless Since the All-Star Game

The New York Mets are losing ground in the National League wild-card race, but there’s still plenty of time for them to right the ship. A win against the San Francisco Giants on Friday could be just what the doctor ordered to get the Mets back on track.

Shark Bites
  • The total has gone OVER in the Mets' last four games against the Giants.
  • The Giants are 18-6 SU in their last 24 games with Johnny Cueto as the starting pitcher.
  • The Mets are 8-2 SU in their last 10 games on the road after a loss on the road.

Steven Matz and Johnny Cueto will take the bump. Matz (9-8, 3.40 ERA) was victorious in his lone career start against San Francisco, allowing seven hits and three walks in six scoreless innings on April 29.

Cueto (13-3, 2.97) is 0-2 with a 4.84 ERA in six outings since starting for the National League in the All-Star Game. He settled for no-decisions in three of his last three outings, including a 6 2/3 inning effort against Baltimore in his last start which saw him give up three runs and eight hits.

Matz has been a great source for UNDER bettors of late. In Matz's last nine appearances, the UNDER is 7-2.

Rookie Fulmer Has Been a Straight Money Maker

Boston dropped the first game in their weekend set with the Tigers but will send their 16-game winner Rick Porcello to the mound in an attempt to even the series. That may be a tough ask tonight as the Tigers call on their stud rookie Michael Fulmer to continue his dominance.

The Tigers are 5-0 in their last 5 games at home with Fulmer as the starting pitcher.
The Red Sox are 0-4 and 1-3 on the runline in their last 4 games against the Tigers.
The Red Sox are 10-1 in their last 11 games with Porcello as the starting pitcher.

Porcello (3.30 ERA) will try to tie J.A. Happ for most wins in the league tonight and he’s probably wishing he was pitching at Fenway. The New Jersey native is 12-0 at home and just 4-3 on the road. He has pitched respectably away from home with a 3.70 ERA but will have to be sharper than that against a rookie who looks like the real deal.

Fulmer just keeps on keeping on in his debut season and now owns a 10-3 record and 2.25 ERA after throwing his first ever complete-game shutout when he faced the Rangers his last time up. The 23-year-old righty has only started five games at Comerica but has been borderline unhittable there hurling a 1.41 ERA in home starts.

Books have this game as a toss-up right now so if you can find some money on the Tigers moneyline, take it. Fulmer sits second behind only Chris Tillman for being the most profitable pitcher in baseball – and he’s started six fewer games.

Marlins and Pirates going in different directions

Marte Pirates

Although they’re still in the thick of the NL wild card race, the Marlins are on a slide that’s seen them lose three straight and six of their last eight. It might not be easy to stop the bleeding tonight at PNC Park vs Gerrit Cole and the Pirates. Miami enters the game as +152 underdogs, and with good reason, as Pittsburgh’s been hot, winning six of their last seven games.

Shark Bites

Dee Gordon and Christian Yelich have career averages of .444 and .455 vs Cole.

Cole has had an ugly August with a 6.00 ERA in three starts, but he’s done his best work at home this season, posting a 2.94 ERA and allowing just one home run in 54 innings pitched. He has one start against Miami under his belt this season, where he was on the wrong end of a 3-1 loss. He gave up nine hits and had just four strikeouts.

The Marlins will counter with Tom Koehler, who’s currently having his best month of the season. In three August starts, he has a 1.89 ERA, while Miami has won four of his last five starts.

The total for tonight’s game sits at 7.5 runs, and these teams have gone UNDER that mark in four of their last five games against each other.
