UConn Struggling At Moody Coliseum

The Connecticut Huskies are trying to claw their way into March Madness and a win against the SMU Mustangs Thursday could go a long way. However, UConn has historically struggled at Moody Colisuem as they are 0-3 SU and ATS in their past three games visiting SMU.

This will be the last game SMU seniors will be playing at Moody Coliseum and that emotion may be compounded with the Mustangs banned from postseason play. The only championship SMU has a chance at winning is the AAC regular season championship, which they are currently in a tie with Temple for. Nic Moore will be playing his last game in front of the Mustangs faithful, but the point guard is coming off a terrible five point outing in which he shot just 1-for-9.

UConn will be in desperate search of a win with the Huskies sitting firmly on the bubble right now. The team is just 1-2 SU against ranked teams this season, but the lone victory did come against SMU a few weeks back. UConn will be looking to make the tournament on the back of their 11th ranked defense that is holding teams to just 62.1 points per game.

Rangers Revive Road Record in February

New York Rangers Pittsburgh Penguins NHL

The New York Rangers have been almost unbeatable at Madison Square Garden all season long but their performance on the road has not been quite as formidable. They have started to come around in their travels and have a chance to improve on a very promising road record in February with a trip to face the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Shark Bites
  • The Rangers are 7-1 SU in their last eight games versus the Eastern Conference.
  • OVER has gone 1-4 in the Rangers’ last five games against the Metropolitan Division.
  • The Penguins are 12-28 SU in their last 40 games against the Metropolitan Division.

Online sportsbook Bovada is presently offering the Penguins at -140 in moneyline markets while the Rangers are currently +110. The total is tabbed at 5 with OVER at -130 and UNDER at Even odds.

The Rangers head into Thursday’s contest with a 14-14-3 record on the road this season but used a 5-2 SU mark in seven February road games to dramatically improve their record. One of the opponents that they defeated on the road were, coincidentally, the Penguins. The Blueshirts skated to a 3-0 victory while Henrik Lundqvist stopped 34 shots en route the shutout.

The Penguins had a two-game losing skid snapped by the Washington Capitals in a 3-2 defeat in their last game on Tuesday. They are well back of the Capitals at the top of the Metropolitan Division standings and are eight points behind the second-placed Rangers entering Thursday’s action.

The Rangers have won three-straight games overall and capped an exceptional February with a 2-1 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets. The Rangers, and their backers, will no doubt be hoping that their success continues into March.

Blackhawks Dominant Vs Atlantic Division

The Chicago Blackhawks are a solid wager no matter the circumstance, but their value increases exponentially when they get to face a team from the Atlantic Division. That is the spot the Hawks are in when they visit the Boston Bruins Thursday evening.

Shark Bites
  • The Blackhawks are 5-2 in their last seven games against the Bruins.
  • The Bruins are 11-3 SU in their last 14 games with one day off in between games.
  • The Bruins are 2-6 SU in their last eight games against teams with a winning record..

The Blackhawks have gone 10-2-1 versus the Atlantic this season and have actually posted a record of 13-3 SU in the previous 16 meetings dating back to last season. They enter Thursday’s contest on a bit of a high as they’ve won back-to-back games against the Washington Capitals and Detroit Red Wings.

The Central Division is becoming an absolute dog fight but Wednesday’s win over the Wings gave the Hawks a two-point lead over both the struggling Dallas Stars and the St. Louis Blues; both of whom are idle tonight.

The Bruins are trying to keep up with the division-leading Florida Panthers as well as the red-hot Tampa Bay Lightning in the Atlantic, but they head in off a 2-1 win over the Calgary Flames and have actually won three of their last four overall.

If you are thinking of fading the Blackhawks because they played Wednesday, do so at your own peril. The Hawks have gone 4-1 SU in their last five games with zero days off in between.

Curling: 2016 Tim Hortons Brier Odds

Kevin Koe Curling

The 2016 Tim Hortons Brier begins Saturday with arguably the strongest field in the history of the tournament. Of the 15 team field (reduced to 12 after a March Madness like play-in round consisting of non-ranking Nova Scotia, Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut), nine are in the Top 20 World Curling Tour Order of Merit rankings, with five in the top 10.

PGA: WGC-Cadillac Championship Odds

Dustin Johnson

The PGA Tour’s Florida swing continues this weekend as the WGC-Cadillac Championship gets underway in Miami. When it comes to odds lists, it’s Northern Ireland export Rory McIlroy leading the way. Only two of the top 50 golfers in the world will not be in the field, meaning there’s plenty of value to go around for bettors.

Deposit Options on Betting Sites

It is always important to do a little homework before selecting a betting site. The variety of sports covered and betting lines offered, as well as the quality of customer service available are all important items to consider.

Withdrawal Time Frames at U.S. Sportsbooks

Getting money on board US sportsbooks is getting progressively easier. These internationally based betting sites can process credit cards using international transaction codes. They can also accept payments via money transfer services or even eCheck – depending on the individual site.

Withdrawing your money involves some creativity. You will not be able to withdraw back onto your credit card. This leaves 3 main options:

Caps are Largest ML Faves of the Season

Washington Capitals Toronto Maple Leafs NHL

On the surface, the meeting between the Washington Capitals and Toronto Maple Leafs is not exactly the most noteworthy matchup on Wednesday’s slate, but it does present one interesting morsel of information, especially for puck bettors.

Lines for Wednesday’s tilt hit the board at online shop Bovada earlier and if the Capitals’ moneyline price holds firm, it will make them the largest favorite of the season to date. At the time of writing, the Caps are -330 in moneyline markets while the lowly Leafs are +265.

Thunder Dominating Clippers in L.A.

Wednesday’s slate of NBA action features a clash between Western Conference heavyweights when the Oklahoma City Thunder tangle with the Los Angeles Clippers at Staples Center. The California sun has been good to the Thunder in recent trips, as Kevin Durant and company are a solid 5-1 ATS at the betting window in their last six against the Clips in L.A. Books are expecting this one to be tight, evidenced by the Clippers opening as slight 1-point favorites.

Shark Bites
  • The total has gone OVER in the Thunder' last three games with a closing total of 220.5 or more.
  • The total has gone UNDER in five of the Thunder' last seven games against the Clippers.
  • The Thunder are 26-5 SU in their last 31 games against the Western conference.

Both squads are in a bubble for the third and fourth spots in the West. The Thunder have a 2.5 game lead on the Clippers for the No. 3 seed, which is more crucial than it seems upon first glance. If the third-seeded team wins its first-round series, they’ll likely find themselves with a second-round matchup against the record-setting Golden State Warriors. Needless to say, OKC would like to avoid that, making tonight’s contest all that more important.

As good as the Thunder have been in L.A., producing on the road has been a tall order for the Thunder in recent weeks, however. Oklahoma City is a paltry 3-10 ATS in their last 13 road games.
