NFL Lockout Betting Update

Tom Brady has drawn a lot of headlines lately. Unfortunately, those headlines have had nothing to do with the New England quarterback's arm or the fact that his Patriots are currently co-favorites to win Super Bowl XLVI.

Sooners favored for BCS title

With the bulk of their starters returning on both sides of the ball the Oklahoma Sooners are in a prime position to claim their first BCS National Championship in more than a decade.

On the latest BCS National Championship futures at Bovada the Sooners are heavily favored at 15/4, and it's not hard to see why. The Sooners have nine starters returning on offense and eight defensive starters back for next season.

Bellator 41 Fight Card Betting

One of Bellator’s best fight cards to date will go down this weekend when the promotion moves to Yuma, Arizona for Bellator 41.

Featured on the card will be Featherweight champion Joe Warren and Bantamweight champion Zach Makovsky in non-title fights against two very good contenders.

And Bellator 41 doesn’t stop there, as there are also two Featherweight tournament semifinal fights plus a heavyweight bout involving rising star Tony Johnson.

MLB betting: Tigers vs. Rangers

Josh Hamilton leads the hard-hitting Texas Rangers into the finale of the three-game series with the Detroit Tigers today.

The Tigers will send Max Scherzer (2-0, 5.73) to the mound today, while the Rangers are expected to give David Bush his first start of the season. Scherzer picked up a win over Kansas City last time out after allowing one run on seven hits over six innings.

NBA odds: Dallas vs. New Orleans

The Dallas Mavericks welcome New Orleans to American Airlines Arena tonight looking to extend their four-game home winning streak against the Hornets.

The Mavericks and Hornets lasted clashed in New Orleans on March 9 when the Hornets recorded a 93-92 win as a 5-point underdog. Jarrett Jack led New Orleans with 21 points, six rebounds and seven assists in the upset, while Dirk Nowitzki had 26 points for the Mavericks.

Canucks Favored to Win 2011 Stanley Cup

A Washington-Vancouver Stanley Cup final has the shortest odds for NHL bettors hoping to predict the finalists for the 2011 playoffs.

That pairing is 13/2 odds, comfortably ahead of the 11/1 odds on a Flyers-Canucks matchup, according to NHL future odds and props posted Tuesday by Bovada.

MLB odds: Dodgers vs. Giants

After opening the season with three wins in a four-game set against the Giants the Dodgers continue a three-game series with San Francisco tonight at AT&T Park.

The starters for tonight's game will be Chad Billingsley (1-1, 8.00) for the Dodgers and Tim Lincecum (1-1, 0.64) for the Giants. Billingsley picked up a win over the Giants earlier this season after allowing three runs on five hits over six innings. Lincecum took the loss against the Dodgers on opening day despite allowing one unearned run on five hits over seven innings.

NBA betting: Lakers vs. Spurs

Riding a five-game losing streak the Los Angeles look to turn things around tonight when they host the San Antonio Spurs at the Staples Center.

The Lakers hammered the Spurs 99-83 as a 3-point road underdog the last time they met up on March 6. Kobe Bryant led the Lakers with 26 points, seven rebounds and five assists in the win, while Gary Neal had a team-high 15 points for the Spurs.

NHL Playoffs: Round 1 Odds

The puck drops on the NHL playoffs on Wednesday night, with the Vancouver Canucks favored by the books to win their first Stanley Cup in franchise history.

In the Western Conference the top-seeded Canucks begin the first round against the defending Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks. Vancouver and Chicago met up in the second round of the postseason last year, with the Blackhawks eliminating the Canucks in six games.

NBA Power Rankings: April 11

The Lakers' recent slump has finally cost them in the NBA Power Rankings, as Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls have ended their long reign and taken over the top spot.

The Bulls deserve the top spot right now; they've won their last seven games and clinched the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference. Their seven-game streak includes big wins over Boston and Orlando, and they've only lost twice in their last 21 games.

The only thing Rose and the Bulls haven't been doing well lately is covering the spread, with a 4-6 ATS record in their last 10.
