American Women Look to Remain Unbeaten in Group Play

The American women’s soccer team is 2-0-0 through the first two games of group play at the Rio Olympics and will continue their quest to capture a fourth straight gold medal as they play their final group play match Tuesday against 0-0-2 Colombia.

SHARK BITES
  • The total has stayed UNDER 3 in both of USA’s group play games so far.
  • USA has won all but one gold medal in the history of Women’s Olympic Soccer.
  • Colombia fell 7-0 to the U.S. when they played back in April.

The Americans are currently the -900 moneyline favorites to win the match on Bovada while the Colombians are +1800 underdogs. The total has been set at three with a +110 line for the UNDER. In spread markets, USA is favored by 2.5 goals and you can get that bet for EVEN money right now.

When the U.S. beat Colombia in April, they outshot them 24-6 and American keeper Hope Solo was forced to make only two saves in the clean sheet. USA’s captain, Carli Lloyd, accumulated three points in the contest and will be looking to add to her two goals so far at these Olympics.

Colombia’s first match of the tournament saw them fall 4-0 to a French team that the U.S. managed to dispatch 1-0. Soccer math doesn’t always work out but I think the Americans have a good chance of embarrassing Colombia and capping group play with a statement win.
