Argentina Gets Chile in Rematch of 2015 Copa America Final

Lionel Messi Argentina Copa America

Two of the pre-tournament favorites clash at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford as Argentina and Chile play a rematch of last year’s final. The Chileans won their first Copa America after defeating Argentina on penalties on home soil last year.

  • Chile’s Eduardo Vargas leads the tournament with six goals.
  • All of Argentina’s games have gone OVER 2.5 goals.
  • Chile has not conceded a goal in their last two games.

Argentina is the fave to win here and is currently -125 at online book Bovada while Chile is +350 and the Draw is +260 in moneyline markets. As far as the spread is concerned, Argentina is a 1-goal favorite at +135 whereas Chile is -165 in that underdog role. Finally, the total is set at 2.5 with OVER at +110 and UNDER tabbed at -130.

These two sides are deserving of their place in Sunday’s final as each has been the class of the tournament. Argentina has reached the final after rolling through Group D with a full nine-point haul and then crushed Venezuela 4-1 in the quarterfinal and the USA 4-0 in the semi.

Chile has really hit its stride after losing to Argentina 2-1 in group play. They finished second in Group D and trounced Mexico 7-0 in the quarters before stopping Colombia 2-0 in the semis.

Argentina has had the edge over Chile after that loss in the Copa final last year. They defeated them 2-1 in a World Cup qualifier back in March and have the 2-1 win in the group stage at this year’s Copa.
