Arsenal’s Title Push Continues at United

Olivier Giroud Arsenal Premier League

Arsenal has serious Premier League title aspirations and collecting the full three points against Manchester United at Old Trafford will go a long way towards achieving that feat Sunday afternoon.

  • Arsenal won the reverse fixture 3-0 back on October 4.
  • Two of the last three meetings have gone OVER 2.5 goals.
  • Manchester United is 10-5-5 in the last 20 meetings in league play.

Online shop Bet365 is presently offering Arsenal as slight +150 road faves for the meeting with United at +188 and the Draw at +220. OVER 2.5 goals is currently +125 while UNDER sits at -163.

The Gunners head into the weekend third in the table on 51 points – just two behind league-leaders Leicester City. They are coming off back-to-back wins in league play with a 2-0 win away to Bournemouth and a 2-1 home win over Leicester in their last league game.

Midweek against Barcelona was a different story for the North London club, however, as the Catalans posted a 2-0 victory at the Emirates back on Tuesday.

Manchester United’s struggles under Louis Van Gaal have been one of the main narratives during the season and they continue to flounder heading into the weekend. The Red Devils are fifth in the table on 41 points – just one up on both Southampton and West Ham who square off with Chelsea and Sunderland respectively on Saturday.

United was dreadful in a 2-1 defeat to Sunderland last time out in league play and must come out better versus the Gunners to stay in line for a European spot. They way they have played of late, however, does not instill any confidence if you’re a United backer.
