Champions League Soccer Odds Preview

Soccer bettors have two must-wager events Tuesday as Champions League odds go up on the marquee Porto vs Arsenal match as well as the Bayern Munich vs Fiorentina match.

FC Porto at Arsenal

Bovada has a moneyline for this game and has Arsenal as the heavy favorite posted at -188 with FC Porto at +475 with a draw at +300.

FC Porto won the first leg of this tie 2-1, but with the away goal that Arsenal scored the English squad may have the advantage in this match.

The big worry for Arsenal is the availability of banged up starter Cesc Fabregas, who lead the Gunners in both assists and goals this season. Arsenal really needs his offense in this match and if he can walk he should play.

Porto’s center back Rolando will have to play well in this match, as Arsenal will come out firing.

Both MF Raul Meireles and CB Rolando were rested this last weekend and each will be fresh for this match. If Porto can control the midfield and keep Arsenal from playing their free-flowing style they can win this match.

Porto is a solid club and if they can score first they also have a great chance to win this match.

Arsenal has struggled on defense lately and they cannot afford Porto to score a precious away goal. However, Manuel Almunia will be back in goal for the English squad after coming back from injury, which is a HUGE sigh of relief for the Gunners since backup Lukasz Fabianski did not play well, to say the least, in the first leg of this tie in Portugal.

Arsenal has not lost since they dropped their match against Porto (3-0), while Porto has only one win since the Champions League victory a couple weeks back (1-1-1).

Bayern Munich at Fiorentina

Bovada has a moneyline for this game with the away side Bayern Munich as the slight favorites posted at +130 with Fiorentina at +180 with a draw at +245.

Bayern won this first leg of this tie 2-1, but needed a goal in the 89th minute to secure the victory. However, giving up the away goal to the Italian squad may prove costly.

Even though Fiorentina has really struggled in Italian Serie A this season they have yet to lose a match this season in Champions League play.

Bayern did not begin the season well, but they have been on fire in the past several weeks and they have not lost in their last five matches.

Fiorentina has a great defense, which thwarted the Bayern attach in Munich, but they will need to show more offense in this match.

Fiorentina striker Alberto Gilardino is the big offensive weapon for the Italian squad and this season and he has three goals and three assists in Champions League play. However, he will be keyed on by the Bayern defense and that may open up the offensive end of the field for the other Fiorentina players.

Bayern has several players banged up for this match, as they may really miss Martin Demichelis and young defensive back Diego Contento.

The Fiorentina defense has to mark Franck Ribéry Bastian Schweinsteiger and not let these two control the midfield, as if they do they will give Bayern many chances to score.
