Colombia Result Not Set in Stone

Colombia has gotten a favorable draw in the elimination stages of the Copa America as they will take on Peru in the quarterfinals on Friday and will avoid the Argentinians until the final, assuming they make it that far.

SHARK BITES
  • Peru is 4-0-1 in their last five matches.
  • Colombia was upset by Costa Rica 3-2 in their match of group play.
  • Peru was a +575 underdog going into their upset of Brazil.

Odds makers have not given Colombia much of a chance to take home the hardware as they are currently +650 to win the Copa on Bovada. They are however, pretty heavy -180 favorites to win their quarterfinal vs Peru.

There is some history on Peru’s side – Los Incas are 1-0-2 at the Copa head-to-head vs Colombia since 2004. The two South American squads played to a 0-0 draw when they faced off at last year’s Copa.

Peru is coming off an upset of a less than complete Brazilian team but will nonetheless carry a great deal of momentum into their knockout game against the Colombians as +475 underdogs.

The total for this match has been set at 2 goals providing some value on the UNDER at +115. These two bordering countries don’t have a history of scoring many goals against each other as their last 10 matches have stayed under that two goal total or pushed.
