Leicester Still the Top Dog in EPL Fight

Jamie Vardy Leicester City Premier League

Most pundits and so-called experts have been expecting a drop both in Leicester’s form and position in the league table. Yet here we are 23 games into the season and the Foxes are in the driver’s seat in the Premier League standings. They face a stern test with Liverpool visiting the King Power Stadium as Premier League action returns Tuesday.

Shark Bites
  • Liverpool is unbeaten in its last seven games versus Leicester in all competitions.
  • Leicester forward Jamie Vardy snapped a six-game goalless drought against Stoke.
  • Leicester is unbeaten in its last seven games at King Power Stadium.

Online shop Bovada has Leicester at +155, Liverpool at +180 and the Draw at +230. The total is at 2.5 goals with OVER at EVEN and UNDER at -120.

The Foxes have just two losses so far this season and one of them has come against Liverpool. The two clubs played on December 26 with the Reds coming out on top 1-0 courtesy a Christian Benteke goal in the 63rd minute. Since that loss, Leicester has three draws and two wins and comes into this fixture off a 3-0 win versus Stoke on January 23.

Liverpool sits seventh in the table with 34 points and just needs to find a bit of consistency. Their last four games have gone loss, draw, loss, win and with the likes of Southampton, Stoke and Watford within striking distance behind them, they could find themselves outside of the top 10 if they don't string together some wins.

One thing is for certain: Liverpool’s leaky defending makes for some entertaining football for the neutral fan. The Reds eked out a last-second victory against Norwich in their last game, coming back from a 3-1 deficit and winning 5-4 thanks to Adam Lallana’s goal in the dying embers of the game.
