Manchester City has Everything to Prove

Sergio Aguero Manchester City Champions League

With Manchester City six points back of Leicester in the Premier League, their chances of domestic glory are decreasing each week. They are still alive in Europe, however, and get their Round of 16 matchup with Dynamo Kyiv started in Ukraine Wednesday.

  • OVER 2.5 goals has cashed in five of Manchester City’s last six Champions League games.
  • Dynamo Kyiv conceded just four goals in six matches in the group stage.
  • Dynamo Kyiv won one and drew two of its three home games in the group stage.

Online shop Bet365 is offering Manchester City at +125, Kyiv at +250 and the Draw at +240 in moneyline markets. As for the total, OVER 2.5 goals is presently +100 with UNDER -125.

The Citizens have lost their last two Premier League games and have dropped to fourth with a dozen matchdays remaining. They had a successful group campaign in Champions League, winning four and losing two en route to topping Group D ahead of Juventus, the team that handed City the two defeats. Injuries could play a role for City, however, as Kevin De Bruyne, Samir Nasri and Wilfried Bony, among others, look set to miss out Wednesday.

Kyiv has not played a competitive match since December and finished second in Group G with 11 points behind winners Chelsea. The club finished second in the Ukrainian Premier League behind Shakhtar Donetsk but the domestic campaign finished in early December, hence the layoff.

While Kyiv has played in a few friendlies to keep in shape for the rest of the Champions League campaign, it will be a tough test with a Manchester City - eager to prove doubters wrong - coming to town.
