Shark Bites
  • Newcastle United has failed to record a goal in their last three Premier League games.
  • Manchester United has won three of the last four meetings between the clubs.
  • The reverse fixture was a 0-0 draw back on August 22.

After posting back-to-back wins in league play back in December, Newcastle United began flirting with the idea of safety from the relegation zone. That was short-lived, however, as the Magpies have just one point in four matches since then and bring a three-game losing streak into Tuesday’s fixture against Manchester United at St. James’ Park Tuesday.

That losing skid has the Geordies in 18th heading into the 21st round of fixtures in the Barclays Premier League and it won’t be easy to notch one in the win column with a suddenly rejuvenated Manchester United in town.

The Red Devils have collected four points in their last two games, including a 2-1 victory against Swansea their last time out. Louis Van Gaal’s side sits in fifth place with 33 points on the season and has a tough short week away from home with a trip to Liverpool following Tuesday’s visit to the north of England.
