Swansea City Desperate for Three Points

Gylfi Sigurdsson Swansea City

Two teams that are headed in the wrong direction square off in Monday’s Barclays Premier League contest as Swansea hosts Watford at the Liberty Stadium. Current moneyline odds have the Swans as +135 with Watford +210 and the Draw +225. Spread markets have this as a Pick with Swansea -145 and Watford +120. As far as the total is concerned, OVER 2 goals is priced at -130 and UNDER +110.

Shark Bites
  • Watford won the reverse fixture 1-0 back on September 9.
  • Watford has allowed at least two goals in each of its previous four EPL contests.
  • Swansea has scored the second-fewest goals in the league (19).

Watford had been a pleasant story early on this season but has lost three-consecutive games heading into Monday’s contest in Wales. Even with the current slump, Watford sits 12th in the table on 29 points – tied with Everton and one behind Southampton, so nabbing three points at the Liberty will catapult them back into the top half of the table.

Swansea, on the other hand, is toiling in the relegation zone in 18th place on 19 points – just one ahead of Sunderland and seven ahead of last-placed Aston Villa. Making matters worse is the fact that the Swans have just one victory in their last 11 games in the Premier League.

Both teams will be desperate for points in this contest, but Swansea will be like a wounded animal in front of its home fans, so we could be in store for some attacking football potentially catering to goal scoring and excitement for the neutral fan.
