World Cup: Denmark Preview
Denmark looked great in qualifying finishing ahead of such teams as Sweden and Portugal, but winning their group with Netherlands in it is no easy task.
Denmark is in Group E with Netherlands, Cameroon, and Japan.
has Denmark at +12500 to win the World Cup and at +375 to win Group E.
The Danes are not in the toughest group in the World Cup, but it still will not be easy to make it out. They should lose against the Dutch and beat Japan, so their big match may be the one against a tough Cameroon team. However, if they can at least get a draw in their first match against the Netherlands they will be in pretty good shape.

Denmark has played in three World Cups, but missed out on the last one in 2006 in Germany. Their best showing in the World Cup was making the quarterfinals in 1998.
The Danes can win on away turf and proved that in European qualifying where they beat the solid teams of Portugal and Sweden on their home fields.
The strength of Denmark is their midfield led by Jakob Poulsen of AGF Aarhus. They tend to control the pace of the match through their midfield passing and they are good at setting up their offense. The Danes have a decent defense and their anchor is G Thomas Sorensen of Stoke City, who has to play well, especially when they face the great offense of Netherlands.
The one main weakness for Denmark is their offense. Even though they have the young and dynamic Nicklas Bendtner of Arsenal he is injured often and after him the lack of offensive production drops off. The Danes generally play with only one striker up front and will look for counter attack chances and long passes from the midfielders to score goals.
Head coach Morten Olsen has tons of international experience and he has the respect of his players. He will have to find some offense in his group, especially if Bendtner is not 100%.
The Danes first match against the Dutch will set the tone for them, as if they win or draw they will be ok, but if they lose they will have to win their remaining two matches.
