Braves trim Pirates in extra innings

David Ross' run-scoring infield single in the bottom of the 15th inning lifted the Atlanta Braves over the Pittsburgh Pirates 7-6 on Monday night.

Atlanta won as -145 home favorites as the game played OVER the 8-run total set by sportsbooks.

Chipper Jones and Brian McCann both went 2-for-5 with a two-run big fly for the Braves, while Kris Medlen picked up the win in relief of starter Kenshin Kawakami for Atlanta.

Eric Hinske drove in two runs for Pittsburgh, as Jeff Karstens was tagged with the loss after allowing the winning run in the 15th inning.
