Reds top Mets to avoid sweep
Joey Votto belted a three-run dinger and drove in four runs as the Cincinnati Reds defeated the New York Mets 8-6 Thursday afternoon to avoid a three-game sweep at Great American Ballpark.
Cincinnati won the game as +105 underdogs, and the 14 runs sailed OVER the posted over/under (9.5).
Paul Janish hit a two-run single for the Reds. Bronson Arroyo tossed six innings and gave up five runs off eight hits for the win, and Francisco Cordero notched the save.
Ryan Church drove in two runs to lead the Mets. Oliver Perez surrendered eight runs off five hits over 4 1-3 innings in the loss.
