Rockies take series from Rays

Clint Barmes belted a two-run homer and the Colorado Rockies held on to defeat the Tampa Bay Rays 4-3 Thursday afternoon in the series rubber match at Coors Field.

Colorado won the game as +105 underdogs, and the seven runs went UNDER the day’s posted over/under (9.5).

Todd Helton and Carlos Gonzalez also went deep for the Rockies. Ubaldo Jimenez tossed 6 2-3 innings for the win, allowing six hits and one run.

Ben Zobrist drove in two runs in a losing cause for the Rays. Matt Garza surrendered all four runs in the loss.
