Rockies down Reds; complete sweep

The Colorado Rockies scored all their runs in the third inning as they defeated the Cincinnati Reds 5-1 Thursday afternoon for a sweep of the four-game series at Coors Field.

Colorado won the game as -210 favorites, but the six runs went UNDER the posted over/under (10).

Garrett Atkins belted a two-run homer to lead the Rockies. Juan Rincon tossed three innings of scoreless relief for the victory.

Brandon Phillips went 3-for-4 at the plate and drove in the lone run for the Reds. Kip Wells allowed all five runs over five innings in suffering the loss.
