Pirates snap skid; take opener
The Pittsburgh Pirates snapped a two-game losing skid by defeating the Florida Marlins 7-4 Friday night at LandShark Stadium.
Pittsburgh won the game as +150 underdogs, while the nine runs made it OVER the posted over/under (8.5).
Ramon Vazquez belted a two-run homer for the Pirates. Charlie Morton tossed a one-hit shutout through six innings to earn the win.
John Baker homered and drove in the three runs for the Marlins. Chris Volstad surrendered four runs off three hits in just three innings on the mound.
