Dodgers crush rival Giants
Ronnie Belliard's grand slam was the icing on the cake for the Los Angeles Dodgers, who crushed their NL West rivals, the San Francisco Giants, 12-1 in Game 2 of their weekend series at Dodgers Stadium.
Los Angeles won as a -137 home favorite while the final score played over the 8-run total.
Dodgers starter Jon Garland would not be outdone by the bats, going eight innings and allowing just one unearned run on seven hits. First baseman James Loney added two RBIs on 3-for-4 hitting with a home run.
The Giants watched Brad Penny struggle in just under three innings of work. Third baseman Pablo Sandoval registered two hits while Randy Winn had the team's lone RBI.
